Patagonia is in business to save our home planet and technology has become a key enabler for this mission. To accelerate our progress, we’re transforming the role of technology at Patagonia and the Head of Data & Analytics will serve a leadership role in this initiative and beyond.

We are looking for a purpose-driven leader who will champion the creation and operationalizing of data products to deliver insights, enable key business objectives, and reduce our environmental footprint. This will require understanding and influencing business objectives, creating a data strategy & roadmap, and then leading execution. This role has direct responsibility for data governance, data management, analytics, engineering, architecture, and data science. It will work across business functions and regions at Patagonia and in partnership with other technology teams to drive business innovation.

What You’ll Do:
Create a comprehensive strategy for data & analytics, ensuring alignment with Patagonia business objectives & purpose
Own multi-year roadmaps and budgets for data products
Implement data architecture practice and processes
Deploy and improve a modern data stack
Continue to identify, deploy, maintain, and scale the best tools to address data needs
Determine data governance and management approach
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders on data privacy, data compliance and integrity initiatives
Oversee analytics engineering and data operations
Build data & decision science practice
Identify and deliver innovation opportunities through data

Experience you bring:
10+ years’ experience in information technology or equivalent, with at least 4+ years of leadership roles
Proven experience building, leading and developing diverse & inclusive teams
Deep experience in Analytics, Architecture, Engineering, Data Governance, Data Products, and other Data and Analytics functional experience
Experience driving advanced analytics initiatives that deliver business outcomes via AI/Machine Learning
Advanced knowledge of key business functions including e-commerce, retail, CX, supply chain, operations, etc
Working knowledge of key data technologies such as SQL/NoSQL DBs, Power BI/Tableau, Snowflake, Azure/GCP/AWS, Python, R, Spark, dbt, etc
Strong interpersonal skills: ability to influence across all levels of an organization (incl. Board & C-suite) without formal authority
Excellent written and oral communications skills (experience building, evaluating, and clearly presenting complex business models is critical)
Significant strategy development and management experience
Must be able to manage a complex, diverse, and dynamic workload

Pay range: $186,665 - $311,109
Hiring range: $225,000 - $265,000
At Patagonia, pay ranges are assigned to a job based on the location specific market median of similar jobs according to 3rd party salary benchmark surveys. Individual pay within that range can vary for several reasons including skills/capabilities, experience, and available budget.
