Role: 3D Digital Product Intern
Team: Product Development
Level: Undergraduate Student
Requirements: Applicants must have graduated in 2020 or be returning to school in the fall of 2020. This is a paid internship that will also include financial support for summer housing and temporary relocation to the area.
Location: Ventura, CA

Internship Overview
Patagonia has embarked on a multi-year and companywide 3D Digital Transformation project that will fundamentally change the way we manage our product lifecycle, from concept to consumer, by implementing streamlined digital processes and cutting-edge technology that will significantly increase quality and reduce waste – saving our home planet, one product at a time. In this role, you will be a key contributor to supporting the project through the creation of 3D digital apparel products, the creation and/or management of 3D digital fabrics, digital blocks, and avatars. A high level of collaboration with designers, pattern makers, product developers, material developers, and product line managers will be required. Additionally, in this role, you will support the Director of Digital Implementation with project priorities, cross-functional communications, and project deliverables.

What You’ll Do
Create digital product, blocks, and avatars with Browzwear tool
Collaborate with Product Developers on best practices for digital proto development
Support the creation of digital line planning assets
Assist the building of the digital raw material and color libraries
Aid in the creation of the virtual quality standards manual
Provide feedback on the observed successes and challenges of the digital create pilots

Internship Project
In addition to daily assignments that support your team, you will be assigned a project to complete by the end of the summer. You will present the results of your project at the end of your internship with your team, and possibly a company-wide audience.
Your project will be related to the 3D digital implementation initiative. The details of the project will be communicated upon your start date. The project involves all teams related to the product creation lifecycle, as well as marketing, and sales.

Experience You Bring
Undergraduate student
Previous internship experience preferred
Proficiency in creating garments with Browzwear 3D digital technology
Experience with 3D digital pattern making
Ability to review and evaluate 3d digital garments and effectively communicate these evaluations to internal and external partners
