Job Title: Equity and Performance Lead
Reports To:Head of Talent Management, Learning, Compensation, & Workforce Analytics
About the Role
As the Equity and Performance Lead, you will be responsible for instilling a mindset and culture of equity & inclusion, ongoing learning, and professional development by designing and implementing organizational and culture change efforts, performance management processes, training, and tools across the company.
Youll join Patagonias Talent & Organizational Development Team, a department within the Human Resource function responsible for inventing, improving, and deploying global talent tools, technology, and programs in the areas of learning and leadership development, performance management, talent & succession management, equity & inclusion, compensation and people analytics.
What You'll Do
Equity and Inclusion:
Design, lead, and drive outcomes of Patagonias organizational change efforts to embed justice and equity values throughout policies, practices, organizational culture, and all facets of our business. Collaborate with leader of compensation and leader of people analytics in this ongoing assessment and to measure, track and analyze the effectiveness of our company-wide efforts.
Help support operationalizing the learning strategy for Patagonia employees to deepen their knowledge and skills in contributing to Patagonias commitment to equitable policies and practices and an inclusive, thriving workplace culture. Facilitate and support the execution of internal events, workshops and programs.
Manage the equity & inclusion employee resource portal which includes curating tailored content and tools for employees.
Service as equity & inclusion subject matter expert by providing coaching, insights and knowledge in a consultative manner to stakeholders across the business including employees at all levels.
Partner with communications teams to build and execute ongoing employee engagement in equity and justice work and communicate plans to engage employees effectively.
Owns and drives the design and implementation of global performance management, including the tools, technology, systems and implement process improvements / actions plans to enhance the adoption of performance management best practices.
Manage the timeline, development and delivery of performance management communications, including timelines for the program and implementation dates.
Oversee change management, communications and deliver training to educate the leaders, managers and employees on all performance management.
Lead the change leadership necessary to evolve our culture and behaviors of leaders and employees to move towards a more progressive approach to managing performance that fits our culture.
Monitor and understand external trends on the future of job and work design and measurement of human performance to guide internal program improvements.
Partner with providers / vendors on performance management services.
Educate members of the Global Human Resource team on best and next practices in work design and performance management and how to implement and support the existing programs and tools at Patagonia.
Facilitate and design trainings to teach employees about the end-to-end performance management process.

Experience you Bring:
8+ years experience successfully designing, managing, and driving outcomes via a transformation of organizational policies and practices to embed equity as a core value; create a culture of inclusion, belonging, and engagement; and diversify and broaden representation among employees, leaders, partners, and grantees.
8+ years experience successfully designing and leading performance management, preferably in a global institution
Demonstrated expertise, thought leadership, and knowledge of research and industry trends on equity and diversity in the workplace, culture change, inclusion and belonging, and performance management
Deep equity analysis and understanding of the structural implications and potential disproportionate impacts of policies, programs, facets of organizational culture, and decision making. You have a sophisticated understanding of how group dynamics impact supervisory relationships, organizational culture, and partnerships demonstrate a history of successfully intervening in problematic dynamics.
Excellent track record of working with teams and employees across race, gender, class, sexual orientation, and other important group identities and of successfully mentoring them into leadership roles, especially Black, Indigenous, people of color.
Demonstrated success using data/insights to develop and evolve strategies and programs to further embed equity, inclusion, engagement.
Exemplary program and project management skills and ability to oversee and deliver across multiple tasks and deadlines.
Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills; able to see the broad implication of decisions and use data to make effective judgments
Experience designing and facilitating trainings and other learning opportunities on equity and inclusion, performance management topics and skills and coaching leaders on related skills.
Expert in use of Microsoft Excel to manage and draw insights from employee data.
Working knowledge of applied statistics and psychometrics.
