Job Title: Senior Inventory Accountant
Reports to: Accounting Manager

General Summary
As the Inventory Accountant you are responsible for analyzing, reconciling, and reporting on inventory related activity for North America across wholesale and Ecommerce channels. For this role you will need to bring experience in variance analysis, month-end close including booking journal entries and account reconciliations and reporting for internal management reviews. You must have an aptitude for systems and drive a culture of continuous improvements in the accounting function to improve the effectiveness, efficiency and overall performance of the Inventory Accounting Group.
You will oversee all aspects of inventory which may include reviewing costing, overhead, and ensuring accurate input in the ERP system, monthly reconciliations and rollforward, and monthly reporting. You will have a solid knowledge of inventory accounting principles as well as an understanding of inventory control principles. You must be reliable and able to carry out tasks autonomously and collaboratively and also work well cross functionally across the organization.
What Youll Do
Book inventory and margin related journal entries and prepare related Balance Sheet Reconciliations
Prepare margin analysis packages for management and explain variances to budget/ forecast
Oversee all accounting functions for the companys recommerce business, Worn Wear
Oversee the financial portion of the companys Fair Trade program including monitoring and reporting on premium payments monthly, semester reporting to Fair Trade USA, and ad hoc inquiries and requests
Assist in Global inventory purchase forecasting
Inventory reserve adjustments and analysis including reserve for obsolete inventory, returns, and repairs
Overhead and standard cost variance analysis
Research and reconcile inventory variances in integrated systems for three North America warehouses
Audit, verify, and administer inventory movement such as store transfers, warehouse distributions and adjustments
Document system glitches by providing a detailed description of the issue with supporting examples and push for resolution
Assist with year-end financial audit and special projects as required

Experience you Bring
BS/BA degree in accounting or business-related field
5 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably focused on cost and inventory accounting
Advanced Excel Skills
Experience with large enterprise ERP and related tools for reporting and analysis.
Comfortable with team-based work structure; ability to remain flexible to change within the work environment and scope of responsibility.
Experience with Microsoft D365, TM1, Power BI and Tableau a plus.
