Job Title: Compensation Analyst
Reports To: Head of Talent and Compensation
Location: Ventura, CA

About The Role:

As a Compensation Analyst, you will be responsible for several critical bodies of work within Patagonia HR Talent & Organizational Development Team. The Talent & Organizational Development Team is responsible for inventing, improving, and deploying global talent tools, technology, and programs in the areas of learning and leadership development, performance management, talent & succession management, compensation, and people analytics. Your role is key to Patagonias efforts to attract, retain, and engage the people we need to save our home planet and become an antiracist company.
Working closely with the Compensation Manager, your role will support Patagonia North Americas Compensation analyses and administrative processes to ensure that Compensation decisions are made objectively in a streamlined process with the best available data. With clear information and thoughtfully designed processes, this work will help business leaders to make the most effective and equitable compensation decisions for all employees, and provide the foundation to progress the company towards greater transparency in compensation.

What youll do:

Compensation Analysis
Own the maintenance and administration of the database housing the compensation analyses linking jobs to relevant market data.
Research the labor market to set pay ranges for new positions and regularly refresh analyses and pay range recommendations for current positions with the latest and best available information.
Partner with the recruiting team to set fair and competitive pay ranges for open requisitions and review offers to candidates
Support analyses on broad compensation trends within the company, including the development and maintenance of compensation metrics and dashboards

Compensation Processes
Own the process of participation in third party compensation surveys
Support the bi-annual salary and wage review processes and annual bonus process
Partner with HR Business partners to support the process of tracking and evaluating job changes to recommend potential changes in compensation guidance
Communications
Lead training and information sessions to keep employees informed on how compensation works at Patagonia, and to guide both managers and employees through annual compensation processes
Partner with the greater HR team and Internal communications team to support wide-scale communications related to Compensation

Compensation Policies and Philosophies
Research best practices in the fields of compensation, benefits, rewards, performance management, and related fields
Participate in discussion and development of compensation strategies, philosophies, and policies

HR Data Analytics, Reporting, and processes
Support the HR Talent and Organizational Development Team and wider HR team on analytical and data intensive projects. Synthesize HR and talent information from a range of sources to draw actionable insights.
Support the HR Talent and Organizational Teams reporting needs for board reports, wide internal audiences, and third parties
As needed, support the HR Team to develop and manage short-term wide-scale complex administrative processes

Experience and capabilities you bring:
Bachelors degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, Finance, Economics, Psychology, or related field
3+ years experience in Compensation, Human Resources, Finance, or related field
Preferred experience supporting Corporate HQ, Retail, Customer Service and/or Distribution Center operations
Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills; able to see the broad implication of decisions and use data to make effective judgments
Exemplary project management skills and ability to oversee and deliver across multiple tasks and deadlines
Expertise in Microsoft Excel and the ability to keep learning new techniques and other analytical software
Preferred experience with Workday HRIS software and Payscale Compensation software
