Job Title: Performance Management & Talent Programs Lead
Reports To:Head of Talent Development, Learning, Compensation, & Analytics
Location:Ventura, CA


About the Role
As the Performance Management & Talent Programs Lead you will be responsible for several critical bodies of work within Patagonia HR Talent & Organizational Team. The Talent & Organizational Development Team is responsible for inventing, improving, and deploying global talent tools, technology, and programs in the areas of learning and leadership development, performance management, talent & succession management, compensation, and people analytics. As a critical member of the team you will head global performance and talent programs, including the design and implementation of talent programs and the continuous improvement and adoption of tools across the enterprise. You will work to evolve a digital first employee experience which includes the creation of digital tools and systems focused on performance management, career development and other related talent development initiatives.

What You'll Do

Performance Management:
Owns and drives the design and implementation of global performance management, including the tools, technology, systems and implement process improvements / actions plans to enhance the adoption of performance management best practices.
Partner with Key business leaders, HR Leaders and Justice & Antiracism Coordination Team to align on enterprise performance management metrics.
Partner with our Justice & Antiracism Coordination Team to develop an inclusive and equitable approach to performance management processes, tools, and resources. This includes inclusive feedback conversations and accountability.
Project Manage end-end performance management life cycle process, includes implementation.
Oversee change management, communications and facilitate training to educate the leaders, managers, and employees on performance management processes.
Lead the change leadership necessary to evolve our culture and behaviors of leaders and employees to move towards a more progressive approach to managing performance.
Partner with HRIS team to refine performance management process in HRIS systems. This includes managing the maintenance and execution of the performance management system, standards of performance, performance evaluation instruments and translating data from HRIS performance tools into actionable insights.
Ongoing management of performance management data. This includes creating surveys to measure effectiveness of performance processes and how we are being accountable and impact to our core competencies, values, and business goals.

Talent Programs:

You will work closely with the head of talent to drive the process design and implementation of Patagonias talent programs which are technology enabled processes that drive talent development strategy.
You will partner closely with key leaders across business functions, HRIS, analytics team, justice & antiracism coordination team to define processes objectives and success metrics that ensure success of the overall employee experience.
Partner with HRIS team, Workforce Planning & Analytics and Recruiting team to design and deploy talent systems and tools to help track skills, career development, progression, and talent management as it aligns to our talent practices throughout the year.
Project management of digital first employee experience talent programs for employees across N. America and work with key regional partners to share best practices.
Work with analytics team and HRBPs to collect and coordinate aggregate data for talent pools, translate those data into insights through data analysis that drives deliberate action plans at appropriate levels as it relates to performance management and progression.

Experience you Bring:
Preferred Masters degree in human resource management, Industrial Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Management/Leadership studies or similar
8+ years experience in successfully designing, managing, and driving outcomes for enterprise wide performance management and talent management systems
Experience implementing a performance management software programs and creating tools for employees across all levels
Experience in creating company-wide surveys to measure organizational behavior, organizational change for leadership and team effectiveness
Demonstrated expertise, thought leadership, and knowledge of research and industry trends on performance management, employee experience and talent management.
Exemplary program and project management skills and ability to oversee and deliver across multiple tasks and deadlines
Experience in creating employee competencies and expectations for what good looks like in navigating the work experience across all levels.
Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills; able to see the broad implication of decisions and use data to make effective judgments
Experience designing and facilitating trainings and other learning opportunities on performance management
Experience working with teams and employees across race, gender, class, sexual orientation, and other important group identities.
Experience with Workday System and tools
Expert in use of Microsoft Excel to manage and draw insights from employee data
Intermediate level of knowledge of applied statistics and psychometrics
