Role: IT Systems Engineer Retail Technology
Team: Retail Technology

Location: Ventura, CA


As an IT Systems Engineer you will work on a team that supports the technology systems in our Patagonia Retail Stores. In this role you will be responsible for deployment, operational support and ongoing updates to all systems in scope. Systems included, but not limited to the Point of Sale System, iPads, Traffic Counters, Phones, Security Cameras, Wi-Fi, Network, etc. The Retail Technology team is part of the larger IT team focused on Information Security & Core Technology for the global organization. As a member of this team your focus will be on Retail Technology but will be partnering with many other areas in support of our business, potentially internationally in support of our regional IT partners. You will bring your passion for the environment and Patagonias products to deliver excellent support of our retail business and associated stakeholders throughout the company.


What youll Do
Point of Sale SupportInstall, configure and troubleshoot Retail Modern POS, Retail Cloud POS, and Retail Hardware Station (IIS) on the Windows platform
Retail operations and POS functionality in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Commerce Headquarters
Create and support POS images to support staging, upgrades and software deployment solutions
Implement and maintain OS environment logging, auditing and alerting using Splunk Cloud
Manage device patching and security standard compliance using PowerShell, Goverlan Reach and Rapid 7 Insight VM
Create and manage SQL databases, security certificates, Active Directory and Group Policy for Retail environment

General Retail SupportUsage of Windows-based client and server hardware/software, management tools, storage technologies, enterprise networking, virtualization, and security technologies
Design and maintenance of secure systems within the Cardholder Data Environment
Adherence to IT governance and security best practices, including areas of change/risk management, business continuity and disaster recovery
Configuration, management, patching and infrastructure provisioning within a distributed multi-tier environment
Work with 3rd party vendors as needed
Provide afterhours/weekend on-call support on a rotating basis

Retail Point of Sale support experience
PCI-DSS experience

Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift PC equipment
Must be able to install network cabling and systems often requiring bending or crouching in small work areas
Must be able to work extended and off hours potentially exceeding 9 hours per day
