Job Description
OluKai looking for a Content Art Director who will play a crucial role in bringing the brand to life visually. You will absorb the brand identity and convert it into daily communication in all channels from digital to print to retail. You will work closely with the Creative Director, Marketing Director and entire creative team to concept and create digital assets that tell/share stories with a consumer-first directive. This person should have understanding of photography and videography processes and be strong with making creative decisions on hiring/selecting of creative partners and directing/managing shoots and post-production.

This person must have had prior experience working in a team as you will work with the entire creative crew as well as other departments and third-party vendors to constantly develop creative visual strategies and successful work. As the Content Art Director, you will:


• Create best-in-class creative content for owned and shared channels including website, social, direct-to-consumer materials, and retail.
• Manage creative pipeline and work flow to ensure projects stay on track and are delivered on brief and on time.
• Partner with Creative Director to build out strategy and work with team members to translate briefs and develop and execute creative concepts.
• Lead creative presentations to a variety of audiences including upper management to explain creative strategies and solutions.
• Be on site to art direct photo and video shoots.
• Oversee post-production and editing of still photography and video pieces.
• Work with Creative Director and Marketing Director to plan deliverables needed for each campaign and to execute to those plans.
• Create/build strong relationships with brand ambassadors to have access to story ideas
• Be a lead for finding interesting content/story ideas and concepts for campaigns.
• Assist with campaign concepting.
• Travel for photoshoots and inspiration/research trips.
Job Requirements
These are the qualifications you’ll need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, or similar is required
• Need 8+ years of design experience.
• Must have 5+ years of experience as a creative focused on campaigns and concepting
• Previous experience directing photo shoots (lifestyle and studio).
• Agency experience a plus
• Experience with a relevant lifestyle brand is a plus.
• Photo/video editing skills is a plus.
• Camera know-how is a plus.
• Advanced knowledge in MacOS and Adobe design software, specifically: InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
• Should have knowledge of digital design, marketing and best practices
• Needs to work well independently, have excellent follow through skills and be pro-active
• Should be quick, collaborative and creative. Need to be able to thrive in a deadline driven environment.
• Requires knowledge of how a creative department works.
• Must possess strong organizational skills.
• Have ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects at once and be deadline oriented.
• Must have strong communication skills as working well in a team is vital.
