Position Overview
The Mechanical Engineer role will include design and development of new BCA Electronics products. The products should be high quality, good durability, marketable, capable of efficient production and cost effective. This position will be responsible for new product planning, prototyping, creating product design and engineering documentation, product testing, and working with vendors and suppliers on commercialization of the products.
Responsibilities
Work with Sr. Engineering Manager and Product Line Manager to develop technologies and products to meet market needs and financial goals.
Work in CAD, project management, and other appropriate tools to develop unique designs that achieve high quality and reliability standards.
Oversee outside resource support for industrial design, engineering, and others.
Work closely with hardware, firmware, and quality engineers to ensure all critical criteria are achieved.
Prioritize, manage, and execute all product-related approvals including product testing.
Achieve product deliverables per the timeline.
Generate and update the specification sheets defining the construction of the products.
Work with the factories to ensure quality and durability.
Submit engineering change notices for construction related changes at the factories.
Travel to on-snow tests, manufacturing facilities, and market engagements.
Qualifications
BS in Mechanical Engineering or similar
1-3 years engineering experience in consumer electronics or related field
Strong CAD skills, SolidWorks preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment sharing knowledge and best practices
Self-motivated, excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Strong passion for the outdoors and backcountry sports
Training in backcountry safety and certification such as AIARE
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit for long periods of time
Ability to enter data for long periods of time
Ability to sit in front of computer for long periods of time
Ability to speak and hear
May be required to lift 15-50 pounds occasionally
No physical sensitivities to epoxy resins
Colorado Residents: Elevate Outdoor Collective carefully considers numerous factors when determining compensation. This includes but is not limited to education, qualifications, certifications, skillset, training, current and prior experience, location. The minimum salary for our Hardware Engineer- BCA position is $65,000 annually and the maximum salary for this position is $75,000 annually. The compensation ultimately offered to the successful candidate will depend upon the aforementioned factors. Successful candidates may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
