Position Overview


Elevate Outdoor Collective is looking for an experienced HR professional to support our Des Moines facility operations. This in-person, on-site role will be the HR liaison for our Distribution Center and ARC (Advanced Resource Collective, our innovation and design center) personnel, supporting recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of Distribution Specialists, and be available to the staff for HR related questions, guidance, and support. This role will report directly to the Director of HR, with a dotted line to the Operations Director.


 


Responsibilities


Ensure compliance and employee operational excellence within our Distribution Center.

Advise Leads, Supervisors, and all Management about policy, labor, and employee relations issues in a balanced, fair, and objective manner, using appropriate counseling, investigative, intervention and mediation techniques.

Aids with recruiting: posting positions, scheduling interviews, reviewing resumes, interviewing for distribution specialist positions, applicant tracking and communications.

Manages temporary, seasonal, and on-call staff in partnership with Operations.

Conducts background checks, schedules pre-employment tests, helps new hires with electronic onboarding paperwork, and completes I9 verification and eVerify for Distribution Center employees.

Conducts orientation for new hires: scheduling and facilitating new hire onboarding, enters information into safety software, provide new hire orientation and facilitates new hire initial training, collaborates with team leads, supervisors, and managers for release of the employee to their position.

Attending and documenting disciplinary meetings within the DC and ARC facilities.

Assists employees with open enrollment for benefits, as well as answering benefit related questions, and helping employees enroll or make changes to their benefits.

Work collaboratively across the HR Team network as needed to support business needs or as directed by leadership.

Performs other duties as assigned.

 


Minimum Qualifications


2 to 5 years of Human Resources experience; supporting in a distribution, production, or a related industry environment.

Demonstrated strong proficiency in MS Office Suite and HRIS systems, as well as the ability to adapt, learn, and apply skills when using various computer programs.

Demonstrated knowledge of employment law, regulations, and statutes.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal communication.

Demonstrated strong proficiency in MS Office Suite and HRIS systems, as well as the ability to adapt, learn, and apply skills when using various computer programs.

 


Preferred Qualifications


PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.

Strong interpersonal skills

Multilingual

 


Physical Requirements


Ability to sit for extended periods of time in front of a computer.

Ability to enter data for extended periods of time; speak and hear; lift 15-50 pounds.

 


Salary Range


This is an hourly position. The pay range for this role is $25-$28/hour .
