Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE The Warranty Technician is responsible for processing and servicing all customer warranty returns. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES • Focuses on delivering a positive customer experience according to set standards • Receives, inspects and processes all returned products for warranty consideration • Determines action to be taken on returned products • Performs repair procedures on warranty returns • Places orders for replacement product, issues credits and closes RMA’s in our ERP system within each accounting month • Follows SOP’s to complete returns from start to finish • Fulfills customer orders for warranty replacement parts • Assists manager in placing bulk parts orders for repair and replacement stock • Monitors new product concerns and alerts engineers and manager; assists in setting up new tracking codes as necessary • Investigates causes and recommends solutions to correct failures • Gives a consistently high level of service to our customers • Interacts with customers and dealers on their warranty claims through email, phone and RMA notes • Ensures personal work area is tidy and provides a safe environment for working • Completes projects as assigned by manager MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • High School diploma • Excellent verbal, written and listening skills required • Consistent sense of urgency required • Excellent follow through and persistence • Ability to multitask and problem solve • Ability to prioritize and escalate when needed • Ability to work well in a team environment and cross functionally • Detail oriented, conscientious, and self-motivated • Excellent organization and time management skills • Initiative to improve processes and reduce costs • Overtime and/or an adjusted schedule may be required in peak season • Familiar with Excel, Word and Outlook • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Prior warranty or customer service experience • 2-3 years experience with outdoor retail sporting goods • Winter ski and/or snowboard repair experience • Genuine interest and understanding of K2 products
