POSITION PURPOSE The primary responsibility is engineering development of the Ski Pole, Ski Helmet and Backcountry Tools product lines. Working with the Product Director and Product Line Manager to develop a product line that meets quality needs, delivery goals, value objectives, cost targets, budget limits and innovation needs to be competitive in the market. The candidate needs to be passionate about Winter Sports in general and Skiing in particular PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES • Work with Product Director to develop Products technologies and to meet market needs, durability requirements, manufacturing capabilities and company financial goals • Achieve Product deliverables per the defined timeline • Generate and maintain BOM, 3D Solid Models, 2D Drawing Files and Specification sheets defining the construction of the Products • Define and approve factory specifications for quality control of parts and processes. Work with factory to ensure production quality • Develop and execute product test plan to ensure that new designs meet performance and durability requirements • Work with internal and external testing facilities to execute on-time production approvals of all components & finished products • Communicate clearly with the team members in Seattle and overseas suppliers • Maintain market awareness through interaction with sales force, dealers and our pro athletes via email/phone communication, on-hill testing, trade show research, shop visits, and other interactions • Travel to trade shows, sales meetings, on-snow tests and manufacturing facilities. International travel is required 3-4 times per year (6-8 weeks) MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent • Proven track record and portfolio of complex 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks preferred) • Must be a self-motivated and self-starter • Excellent communication, presentation and problem solving skills • Skier and Winter Sports enthusiast DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS • 3-5 Years related Product Design Engineering experience • Experience in manufacturing (plastic processing, metal processing, and assembly) • Experience initiating and completing design projects from concept through production • Experience setting-up specifications for quality control and analyzing quality control data • Industrial Design experience for consumer products a plus • Adept use of Adobe Illustrator a plus • Skier and Winter Sports enthusiast
