The Director of Web Services is responsible for the strategic planning, development and implementation of the K2 Sports’ websites and e-commerce. The Director will oversee the appearance, content and interactivity of the site, and ensure it meets the highest standards of e-commerce functionality, product information, branding, editorial and graphic quality, consistency and adheres to best practices involving site architecture, navigation, process flows, page-level interactions, functionalities, usability, SEO and accessibility.Major Duties and Responsibilities:The Director of Web Services provides systems-level leadership and technical expertise to lead a web development team so that it aligns and supports the ecommerce, product and marketing functions of the K2 Sports brands. The Director also engages with the variety of stakeholders across the company in regard to the site's performance, content standards and role in promoting the brands. Major Duties and Responsibilities: ! Serve as the company’s website administrator and lead a service-focused team in website content maintenance, evaluation, and improvement initiatives, including continuous website assessment/evaluation. ! Maintain consistent graphic and editorial standards; ensure that applicable standards such as code validity, browser version compatibility, and link currency are met; ensure website architecture and information design is optimized for navigability and performance. ! Ensure the website meets or exceeds ADA compliance and any other accessibility and legal requirements. ! Assess website traffic consistently, conduct focus groups and UX testing, and provide analysis for trends and indicators that detail the sites’ overall performance. Respond to indicators that require action to correct any growing problems or opportunities. ! Meet regularly with stakeholders to educate them about the websites, its performance and governance, and to seek timely feedback. ! Track trends in website development and in e-commerce to stay current with the industry and keep the company’s websites a leader in the field. ! Administer and enforce the company’s web governance policies, assist with developing web policies, and monitor compliance. ! Supervise, train, coach, encourage professional development, and evaluates the work of personnel in the Web Services team. ! Use Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM) tools as necessary to support the company’s e-commerce and brand goals. ! Maintain strong professional relationships with company’s search engine and web hosting providers and the IT department to ensure proper maintenance and upgrades occur in a timely mannerMinimum Qualifications: ! A Bachelor's degree in strategic communications, digital media, interaction design, computer science, marketing, business, web design or a related field. ! At least five years' experience managing a large, multi-faceted web site in a similar role in higher education, nonprofit, and/or with a brand marketing agency. ! Familiarity with front-end development programming languages, including, but not limited to, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, AJAX, and third-party JavaScript libraries such as jQuery. ! Strong familiarity with SEO practices and trends ! Familiarity and knowledge of information design and architecture, user-centric design, multiple browser requirements and capabilities, and web design and development constraints and parameters. ! Strong knowledge of code development tools. ! Strong skills in managing projects and people and proven diplomatic, leadership, and public speaking skills. ! Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Preferences: ! Prior experience with website redesign and content migration. ! Prior experience and/or familiarity with e-commerce practices and digital marketing practices. ! Knowledge and experience on how to manage a cloud-based web server (Windows-based). ! Experience with managing web design projects from concept sketches to wireframes to development, including the coding of design concepts and prototypes using front-end programming languages. ! Prior professional work experience in a related company setting.
