Position Summary The Backcountry Products Design Engineer contributes to all phases of the development of our backcountry products including snowshoes & avalanche safety gear. The Snowshoe Product Line Manager researches the market, creates the product line plans, guides product development, and achieves financial targets to ensure the growth and health of our snowshoe business.
Essential Job Duties Engineering (50%)
Product design and engineering
Optimize material selection and product design to maximize customer value
Creation of technical specification documentation and quality standards
Manage testing process to ensure quality and performance
Factory sourcing and selection
Essential Job Duties Product Line Management (50%)
Market research involving global consumers, retailers, and industry information
Product briefs including consumer insights and competitive positioning
Company sales and order analysis
Competitor analysis
Product line and model positioning
Line plan development and communication
Merchandising plan
Guide global pricing, sales programs, and forecasting
Financial model and product cost targets
Product life cycle planning
Item master information completeness and accuracy
Drive creation of product communication materials
Train sales force on product details
Travel for market research, testing, and factories as needed
