Position Summary //

The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for specific pieces of store operations, delegated by Store Manager, that produce a welcoming community atmosphere, a remarkable customer experience, and generate TOMS entrepreneurial spirit within the retail team. When the Store Manager is absent, the Assistant Manager is accountable for all store operation functions. The Assistant Store Manager is a true advocate for TOMS culture and acts as a pillar for TOMS brand in and out of the store.

Candidate Profile //

The Assistant Store Manager is knowledgeable and passionate about the TOMS giving program. As a member of the Store Leadership Team, you are active in the local community and develop lasting relationships with community influencers. You have an authentic passion for TOMS product lines and you want to ensure an enjoyable customer experience at TOMS. You naturally inspire a team and create strong leaders by taking responsibility for your actions, having impeccable integrity and doing through others.

Position Expectations //

- Ensures exceptional customer care delivered by associates 100% of the time.
- Passionately educates customers and associates on TOMS giving program and the One for One ™ movement on and off the retail floor.
- Generate TOMS values and culture.
- Oversees the execution of certain deliverables ?as delegated by the Store Manager involving Inventory, Community, People Development, etc.
- Represents her/his store at all required meetings and events, participates in community initiatives in and out of the store as needed.
- Unpack boxes for inventory as required. Boxes can weigh up to 50 lbs.
- Works a minimum 40 hours per week (5 days) consisting of managing/working on the retail floor; at least one day is a weekend day/night.
- Manages and delegates many projects concurrently, asks for and receives feedback on a daily basis.

Success Measures //

The TOMS Assistant Store Manager will be successful in this role when they can not only execute the following tasks but also train associates and see successful results in the following areas:

Operations: Create strategy and action plans to solve root causes of customer bottlenecks, Identify, articulate and correct business and team performance gaps.
People: Pro-actively plans team roster with strategic and cultural hiring choices, motivating team on ongoing basis.
Community: Leads creative inspiration for community/events, has measurable ROI on all approved events, ensures digital content (Instagram) is brand aligned.
Visual Merchandising: Evaluates sell-through, requests merchandise and initiates RA consolidation, evaluates quality of visual merchandising as a whole on a daily basis.
Finance: Identifies controllable vs. non-controllable budgets and administers controllable budget to gain the highest return, implements reforecasts to accurately predict sales and hours usage for each period & quarter.


Qualifications & Experience //

- Minimum of 3 years of current retail management experience, additional hospitality management experience a plus.
Self-motivated, organized, and entrepreneurial store experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of the footwear marketplace a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years management experience.
- High level of expertise in computers, web, and inventory management (Microsoft Office, Outlook Express, Apple & Microsoft platforms, knowledgeable in various POS systems).
- Strong knowledge of labor laws, as well as standard retail laws such as ADA compliancy, etc.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights & weekends as business dictates.
