During this full-time internship program, we expect our interns will work an average of 40 hrs/week at our Headquarters in Los Angeles, CA and be available for the entirety of the 9.5-week program. About the Role: The Footwear Design Intern will be working alongside ourdesigners to learn first-handthe process and components that go into creating TOMSs core silhouettes, the Alpargata, the Cordones, and the Bota. Over the 9.5-week program, the intern will work closely with our design, product development, and materials teams to create and present his/her own versions of the TOMS classics. Our team of experts will guide the intern through the full life cycle process of shoe design. The intern the walk away having created their own TOMS shoe designs from mood boards, sketch reviews, spec sheets and CAD creation. The ideal candidate will be highly innovative, energetic and have a passion for design in the footwear/fashion industry. Heres what you will do: • Create innovative versions of the TOMS Originals: Alpargata, Cordones, and Bota from conception to prototype that represents our next generation of product, while considering form and function. • Research market data and analyze trends were looking for on-trend and fashion-forward • Ideation and sketches of upper and outsoles • Create color CADs sketches to present to the design team • Compile and present a material and application story • Assist with creating product team presentations Does this sound like you? • Positive, easy-going attitude youll be working with some really passionate and inspiring people at TOMS • Self-starter who likes to jump right and take initiative do your friends call you a go getter? • Flexible and adaptable work style we are a pretty fast paced environment so you need to be on your toes • Eager and ready to learn we want you to get as much out of your nine weeks as possible! • Effective communicator were listening, want you to share your ideas and influence us! Skills that youll need: • Art/ Fashion/ Industrial or Product design background with an interest in lifestyle/fashion • Graphic design skills do you have the ability to sketch and create original designs? • CAD experience preferred / Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop proficient do you have an online portfolio? We want to see it! • Ability to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 25lbs of product or office supplies we all pitch in where we can!
