Job Summary

The Demand Planning Manageris the lead driver behind the global development of the Demand Plans across commercial channels. This includes management of the monthly process used to develop these plans. This position owns responsibility for ensuring that high quality globally aligned demand plans are developed by leveraging the best available cross-functional inputs and applying judgment based on knowledge of the business, giving and robust cross-functional discussions.

This position will lead cross functionally and cross regionally to effectively produce timely forecasts that help align the long-term company goals
The individual oversees the Demand Review meetings, owns analyzing and improving forecast accuracy, and executes process improvements as appropriate. This position will work with functional planners to develop accurate, high quality forecasts for specific channels, customers or geographies by utilizing best-practice processes and sound business knowledge.

Essential Responsibilities
E2E Forecasting


Oversee global demands across all categories including Footwear, Eyewear, Giving and Apparel & Accessories including salesmen samples



Develop accurate, high quality SKU level co-exclusive demand plans for all markets, channels and/or customers by utilizing best-practice processes and sound business knowledge based and conduct robust cross-functional discussions



Be the expert in the A3 demand planning tool this includes understanding all of the different planning modules and all of the interfaces and interactions with SAP and BI



Partner with Supply Chain leadership, support the Global Sales & Operations Plan (S&OP) process, ensuring coordination between the demand and supply plans. Work with other related functions to develop solutions to functional and operational conflicts within the plans.



Drive alignment across departments on planning targets at region, channel, and product level



Establish and lead processes that guide the creation of global forecasts with cross functional partners in Sales, Product, and Merchandising



Manage rolling forecasts including in-season and subsequent future seasonal forecasts to ensure efficient inventory positions



Drive monthly forecasting process among Demand, Sales, Finance and Merchandise Planners to maintain MID level forecasts; drive alignment on demand requirements and managing exceptions



Implement, improve and integrate process of discipline in forecasting and planning systems



Drive and manage global core trend-based plans for Never Out of Stock (NOOS) model



Assess, determine, and recommend seasonal carryover and core styles based on historical sales and statistical trends

Reporting & Analytics


Establish and conduct monthly demand reviews



Align senior management team with functional teams with Demand Planning to produce global forecasts that drive global inventory management (via Executive buy reviews)



Publish and present new reporting & dashboards to support better forecasting, planning, and performance measurement



Collaboratively establish, monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); Deliver against KPIs (E.g. Forecast Accuracy)

Process Ownership


Manage and lead demand review meetings, ensuring effective integration with the overall Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process



Oversee all planning activities among planning cycle (E2E Forecasting) with the GTM calendar and proper communication to all relevant stakeholders



Help establish a S&OP process and drive key initiatives for all demand activities



Partner with Data Governance Committee, assess business needs and approve best practice in data usage at TOMS

Cross-Function Leadership & Organization Support


Lead, coach, and train Planners across regions for Demand Planning, Merchandising and Sales talent both on an individual and team basis



Partner with global Sales and Merchandising teams to integrate customer feedback in future product planning decision and appropriate merchandise flows

Requirements and Qualifications


5+ years experience workingin demand planning and statistical processes



3+ years experience with forecasting software and possesses astatistical forecast background



3+ years experience with SAP AFS and advanced planning solutions like APO, Demantra, etc.



Strong understanding of typical footwear and apparel business channels, including implications for demand planning



Strong knowledge of supply-chain best practices, including Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process



Strong cross-functional team leadership skills, including ability to identify and resolve issues/opportunities



Ability to demonstrate thought leadership by independently developing and advocating a point of view



Highly analytical and Strategic with unparalleled problem solving skills



Ability to effectively prioritize work



Strong MS Excel and MS Access experience

Education and Experience


Minimum of 5 years experience in Demand Planning for consumer products, with a minimum of 2 years in a management role is required



B.A./B.S. in business or quantitative area required
