Quality Assurance Inspector

Job Summary:
The Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for ensuring high level quality standards and providing professional/proficient customer service in Shimano’s warranty/return department. 
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Specializing in rod, reel, ITI, and fish LSG returns, ensure all warranty and returns are processed appropriately and promptly.  
Receive and verify shipment returns for accuracy as well as maintain appropriate records required.  This includes tracing lost or misrouted packages and initiating credit memos for returns.
Investigate issues and determine appropriate resolution methods. Notify supervisor when necessary. 
Share feedback from customers and suggest new ideas on how to improve department’s procedures and services.
Assist other QAs with receiving and clean up.  
Assist DC when the workload requires.
Job Qualifications:
Knowledge of Shimano’s bicycle and fishing products to determine what new packaging looks like.
Must become technically proficient with all Shimano products in order to provide responsive and competent telephone and e-mail support to customers in areas of product warranty.
Good verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with customers.
Strong analytical skills.
Strong sense of urgency and good follow-up skills.
Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with customers and within other Shimano departments.  Eager to help customers/peers with challenges.
Attention to detail is essential.
Effective time management skills. 
Ability to work in a warehouse environment on a regular/full-time basis.
Lift and move materials 50 plus pounds.
Computer skills (PC: Windows, Excel, Word, AS400 knowledge a plus).  
Ability to work in fast paced environment.
Must be a well-organized, observant, self-starter, who can manage a variety of projects simultaneously with little oversight.
Must be available to work overtime when required.
Education:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Environment:
Approximately 100% of the time performing job duties is spent indoors in a warehouse with limited heating or air conditioning.
Approximately 75% of the time is spent on the computer.
Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
The temperature of the work environment is equal to the outside temperatures of the area.
Physical Demands:
Occasionally lift from overhead or below the waist.
Occasionally bend, twist, push, pull, climb, squat, crawl and kneel.
Frequently reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stand and walk; grasp with hands and fingers; and lift (up to 50+ lbs.).
Continuously sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
Machines, Tools and Equipment
Continuously use copier, fax, printers, and 10-key calculator.
Continuously use writing instruments, computer and telephone.
