Summary:
Responsible for the marketing and brand development of all Shimano hard goods, soft goods & PRO that pertain to the Road & Gravel categories. The Brand Manager will report to the North American Marketing Manager and will serve as the marketing brand leader for specified products and brands as projects are developed and implemented throughout our organization.  You will work on global marketing teams in the development of the global brand strategy.
Primary emphasis is the planning, execution and analysis of marketing promotions that increase brand awareness and help achieve our sales objectives within North America.  You will work with members of the sales and product teams in the development of promotional plans. This planning will integrate with your work with other members of the GTM team to create the marketing & foundation plans that guide our actions for the coming years.   You are also expected to utilize resources within the company to implement promotional plans.
The Brand Manager is the hub for all road and gravel GTM activities and is expected to lead the development of new ideas, projects, events, and strategy plans.  Coordinates marketing activities, addresses new problems, and communicates our actions to the Shimano team.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
·     Acts as the leader, advocate and steward for Shimano Brands as it relates to products in the North America market place.
Collaborates with marketing manager to develop, plan, execute and evaluate all product marketing activities included product launches, trade shows advertising, promotions, online and interactive initiatives, sponsorship, seeding, ambassadors, etc.
Work with Marketing and Retail Managers to outline content and asset needs for brand marketing initiatives including videos, photos & copy for advertising, product launches, training materials, social media, dealer books, catalogs, websites, in-store promotional materials and other branded communications.
Collaborates with GTM Team as well as external resources like ad agencies, sales reps, editors, teams and athletes etc. to bring the product and brand strategy to life.
Will work with our PR agency to implement press events and messaging.  This includes the evaluation of the effectiveness of press and communication strategy.  Makes recommendations to improve performance.
Evaluates the sufficiency of the present product, utilizing all available data – consumer trends, consumer research, consumer comments, and competitive analysis – and is alert to changes to technology, competitive products, consumer needs and usage patterns that may dictate product changes.  Works closely with product managers to implement necessary product strategies.
Create content for the digital team to use on social digital channels.
Work closely with product teams to implement necessary product strategies.
Will work with our sports marketing team to aid in the overall success of our marketing and sales plans.
Regularly assess the Brand’s market position and make necessary adjustments and recommendations to improve the Brands’ market position. 
Support of Shimano other owned brands in marketing and promotions.
Job Qualifications:
Five (5) or more years’ experience with independent bicycle retailer’s/bicycle industry.
Five (5) or more years’ experience with product and brand management
Understanding of bicycle OEM and OTC business models.
Thorough knowledge of bicycle components.
Experience managing people and working across cultures (Japan a plus).
Proficient in Microsoft including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree
