Job Description

The Smartwool (SWL) Creative Services Director is responsible for managing and supervising the Creative Services team, and overseeing all production and project management within the Creative Services area. This position is to be responsible for planning and directing the creation, publication, and distribution of all sales, communication, and marketing materials for VF marketing units in support of their business plans. Additionally, this position consults with internal/external customers/vendors regarding product, service, and support issues.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Creative Execution:
· Drive creative design and execution of the global brand vision for the consumer, trade, and employee base globally
· Direct the integrity of the brand creative execution, including brand presence on smartwool.com, trade marketing, media, events, awards and other brand building opportunities in all mediums
· Own the SWL Brand Standards and guidelines
· Direct copywriting process for global consumer-facing collateral: workbook, brochure, advertorials, signage, ads, social media, video
- Work in close partnership with the Global Brand Marketing Director and the Regional Marketing teams to execute creative on brand and seasonal stories as they apply to the Go-To-Market process

2. Creative Services:
· Deliver integrated creative executions that balance the brand story with seasonal product initiatives
· Direct, monitor, and measure the Creative Team’s projects ensuring all graphics align with the Brand DNA
· Deliver SWL Brand action and lifestyle photography in alignment with brand plan
· Trade show and sales meeting management

3. Packaging:
· Collaborate with Product Development and Sales teams to ensure alignment with our Global Brand standards. Direct the creative design and messaging

4. Leadership:
· Foster an environment of collaboration within and cross-departmentally
· Foster an agency mentality within the department that focuses on efficiency, execution and delivering final creative on-time and within budget
· Build a united, collaborative, motivated Creative Team, providing leadership, insight, and guidance
· Manage team: hire, train, motivate, coach and mentor team members.
· Responsible for fiscal management of the Global Creative Department, including the development of the annual budget and the framework for approval of expenditures.
· Communicate and support the Management Team’s business priorities and decisions to the Creative Team

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
• Bachelor Degree in Marketing relevant field preferred or relevant/equivalent work experience
• 7+ years of progressive marketing experience
• 5+ years of management (specific computer skills)
• Demonstrated results in executing multiple projects and integrated plans on a seasonal basis
• Key to the success of this role is the ability to communicate the brand creative execution strategy clearly and appropriately in all regions and channels
• International creative marketing or global brand management experience
• Ability to drive planning and execution of marketing plans across multiple channels (i.e. outdoor, ski, running, lifestyle, and high-end department store)
• Excellent process management skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proven ability to create and implement a winning marketing strategy
• Proven people management skills
• Ability and willingness to travel 12+ trips per year domestic and international
