Summary
Are you a designer with an interest and a passion for designing performance athletic footwear? Would you like to be part of the next great athletic brand?

Under Armour has helped to redefine the apparel industry and is poised to do the same in footwear. They are building a footwear team with the goal of being a player in many major performance categories. Under Armour is looking for a Senior Design Manager to focus and lead one of the following specific categories, running, training, basketball, football, baseball, slides and soccer.
Work at their headquarters located in Baltimore, MD as part of one of the fastest growing brands in the world. Their design studio is the ultimate creative loft environment that overlooks the Chesapeake Bay. Work collaboratively with the performance team and director to create innovative and industry leading footwear product. Under Armour is looking at design to lead the brand vision in footwear going forward.
We are looking for self-motivated designer that wants to be part of a fast evolving brand with significant career growth potential. As they grow they are looking for leaders in design to manage and grow with the business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Manage a category of business from the design side, including personal, work load and design direction.
Be a key partner in creating brand identity and distinctive UA footwear offerings with a creative and current design vision.
Design and present concepts for footwear and overall design direction: material, trim, color.
Develop and execute clear and detailed technical packages for development.
Ensure that the category meets price point, tells a strong merchandising story and meets development time lines.
Express ideas in a variety of ways including sketches, marker rendering, computer illustrations etc.
Provide product conceptualization and alternatives that meet the needs of the product as outlined by product marketing and the product brief.

Solid understanding of footwear construction and materials. Should be versed in manufacturing techniques and have experience working at the factories on development issues.
Expert ability to express concepts and ideas through hand sketching.
Understanding of patterns, blueprints, molds and materials.
Must be detail oriented, able to prioritize tasks and work under pressure to successfully meet multiple deadlines.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. ,
Education and/or Experience
BFA or BID in Industrial Design with 7+ years’ experience.
Excellent Mac computer skills with full proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop. Other computer skills: Alias sketchbook pro, 3D, Microsoft Office.
Experience working with factories in Asia and ability to travel for development trips.
