DEPARTMENT SUMMARY: Under Armour’s Licensing team oversees a diverse set of deals, relationships, and products. The Licensing team is the hub for all product licensing strategies and is structured to work with Category, Merchandising, Marketing, Design and Operations Teams to ensure collections that are brought to market align with the Brand.
POSITION SUMMARY: Under Armour licensing is looking for an ambitious, detail-oriented Accounting/Analytics staff teammate to support the growing business. The role will support the Licensing business (inbound and outbound royalties) with recording and reporting monthly, quarterly, annual results as well as producing ad-hoc reports as requested. This candidate will be responsible for all month-end close activities, as well as reconciliation of related balance sheet accounts.  The ideal candidate will have at least 1-2 years of accounting/analytics experience, strong communication and organization skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The desire to grow within the role, coupled with the ability to operate independently in a highly entrepreneurial environment is a must.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
OVERALL
Records all month-end journals entries and related balance sheet reconciliations and SOX controls
Maintains both internal and external reporting, creates dashboards, and stores accurate files to ensure global consistency.
Assists with licensing analytics: challenges teammates to look at the data in new ways, spots trends, assists with metrics for new deal development, and other reporting as necessary.
Proactively identifies and communicates potential process improvements and better ways of working
Executes ad hoc reporting as requested
Other duties as assigned
LICENSING REVENUE
Owns licensing accounting matrix document outlining all agreements and scenarios by partner, channel and geography
Records revenue, maintaining accurate journal entries for all licensee partners and contractual agreements
Processes month-end true ups, following up on any adjustments to revenue, as needed
Reviews licensee reporting, reporting analytics to internal stakeholders
Assists with periodic audits and/or reviews of UA licensees
Works with global accounting and finance counterparts to ensure alignment
Responsible for communicating with licensees throughout the monthly reporting process
LICENSING EXPENSE
Record royalty expense on a monthly basis. Collaborate with the product and licensing teams to validate SKU information, perform analytics analysis, and ensure master data aligns with reported expense.
Following monthly close, communicate results both internally within Under Armour and externally with license partners.
Own licensor matrix detailing contractual UA obligations
Collaborate with members of the licensing team and UA legal team to ensure licensor contractual obligations are being adhered to
Support audit requests from UA licensors

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, and at least 1-2 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and related experience. Global experience/experience working with multiple international currencies is a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to communicate in English is required. Ability to communicate in a language other than English is a plus. Skilled at communicating effectively with all levels of the organization. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from teammates and license partners.
ACCOUNTING/REPORTING SKILLS:
Proficiency in software programs such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Prior ERP Experience - SAP a plus
Ability to understand and apply concepts as needed for analysis of selling reports and strategic business planning
Fundamental knowledge of US GAAP
CPA’s and CPA bound candidates are preferred
