Summary Under Armour is hiring a Senior Materials Developer to drive Material Innovation within the UA apparel line. This is a highly interactive and technical development position that requires materials expertise. Qualified candidate must possess the ability to work with and interpret a diverse supply chain and internal customer network to develop dynamic, high quality materials for an international and renowned Technical Apparel Company. Responsibilities include driving technology transfer to in-line, developing alongside best-in-class material supply partners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. +Drive material innovation, and influence new end-use applications for all product categories + Lead in-season material development while focusing on long-lead and highly-engineered, material innovation pipeline + Collaborate with other internal Innovation partners on long-lead, high-profile projects + Work cross-functionally with Product, Design, Merchandising, Color Team, and Strategic Sourcing teams to lead-in and determine each category’s material direction supported by their business needs + Consider UA’s aesthetic direction and performance requirements for the focused performer + Understand how fibers, yarns, knit, and woven constructions, as well as dyeing and finishing affect a material’s aesthetic and performance attributes + Communicate, visit, and collaborate with global suppliers to aid in material development + Partner with UA’s International Materials Team to drive technical materials development through commercialization + Develop materials for specified end uses to ensure quality assurance and commercial viability + Travel domestically and internationally as needed Supervisory Responsibilities None
