SUMMARY
The Sr. Manager, Distribution Operations is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for a high volume, order fulfillment, multi-shift distribution center function.  They are responsible for leading and developing an engaging leadership team that efficiently meets distribution productivity goals.   The Sr. Manager is responsible for effectively communicating cross functionally to maintain the most productive and efficient work flow throughout the DH. They are responsible for managing their respective job function(s) while driving financial success in their business unit through strategic planning, forecasting volume, and aligning headcount needs to meet department and company goals.  
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
Drives a safe work environment and creates a culture of safety by supporting EHS initiatives throughout the DH.
Provide leadership for large non-exempt teammate population and exempt direct reports that both maximize and optimize resources in support of the company’s goals and objectives in serving customers.
Design and implement staffing strategies to ensure the work force is flexible and can respond to variations in work flow.
Works directly with operations leadership and peers to achieve building goals through planning and the direction of work for direct reports. .
Providing coaching to direct reports pertaining to their day to day responsibilities.
Drives efficiency in inventory and quality accuracy in respective department(s) to ensure shipping/receiving functions at distribution plant are operating at levels which meet customers' needs and established financial benchmarks.
Ensure that the department performance goals are set and achieved, through the proper execution of performance metrics as it relates to Productivity, Safety, Cost, Quality and Customer Service.
Responsible for achieving optimum labor, and least amount of overhead and material costs in the Distribution operation.
Works with Production Planning and QA to attain maximum efficiency with regards to receipt of product.
Formulates and recommends distribution policies and programs which guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation.
Ensures fixed assets are preserved. Initiates recommendations on purchases of capital equipment and improvements to distribution property.
Develops, monitors, and reports on operating budget within functional areas. Alerts management of cost and labor over run and makes recommendations and implements solutions to opportunities.
Advises distribution managers on labor issues including safety, security, employee relations, scheduling, training, grievances and the like. Holds Managers and Supervises accountable for adhering to company policy and administering practices in a fair and equitable manner.
Keeps up-to-date on information and technology affecting functional area(s) to increase innovation and ensure compliance.
Strategically plans the daily operations workload for the DH and collaborates with counterparts to establish communication around critical business updates, strategy development and execution planning.
Builds and maintains effective relationships with business partners outside of the DH
Ability to manage team budget and appropriately allocate resources. Finds ways to make processes more efficient to save time and money. Achieves results while adhering to budgetary constraints.
Communicating financial and goal results and key performance indicators to direct reports.
OTHER DUTIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
Knowledge in the operation that will allow flexibility in assisting cross-functionally throughout the DH.
Technical experience in MHE and engineering
Experience in the apparel industry strongly preferred.
Ability to travel as may be required.
Highly skilled with database/spreadsheet programs, and specifically MS Office programs (MSWord, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Experience with MRP software package is required. ( WMI, SAP, FMS)
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing daily work assignments; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE/CRITICAL SKILLS
Bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of related experience in a distribution or warehouse environment; or equivalent combination of education and . lated experience.
Proven leadership in talent development and people management.
At least 3 years of experience in supervising others. In a fast paced, high volume warehouse environment.
Knowledge of warehouse management systems; warehouse control systems, Excel, running reports and interpreting and communicating data/metrics through presentation development and delivery.
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment; ability to follow detailed instructions both written and verbally; ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures; ability to apply concepts of math. Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Business acumen of process flow in Distribution, Logistics and Supply Chain process flow.
Dynamic and energetic communicator. Ability to communicate in an honest and straightforward manner.
Approachable demeanor. Maintains positive relationships even under difficult circumstances. Has an infectious enthusiasm for the Brand that influences others.
