POSITION SUMMARY:
In this role, the Head of Open Innovation will lead open innovation and partnerships to leverage key innovations outside of Under Armour to accelerate, incubate, and activate Under Armour’s internal innovation platforms.  This role will be the gatekeeper to filter, validate and veto proposed platforms based on a standardized Open Innovation scorecard.  Additionally, this role will oversee Open Innovation and strategic partnerships, and centralized innovation program management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead technology validation and sourcing
Create, build, maintain, and integrate external key partnerships and industry relationships.
Build alignment of new opportunities I.e. (technology, partnerships, high dollar investments) by using, sustainable and consistent evaluation methods that directly links to ROI and Risk assessments
Leverage colleges, internal ideas, external accelerates, incubators globally to inform and mine for future opportunities.
Build Future Show strategy and adoption
Plan, execute and close projects based on comprehensive work plans, that are on-time and on-budget.
Be the integrator with external partners working on UA directed outsourced work
Gatekeeper of internal asks related to external partnerships
Recognize match UA’s needs to market opportunities (deal sourcing)
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA preferred
Minimum of 4-6 years in the VC/PE industry
Has successfully worked an opportunity from emerging to completion
Broad understanding of industries that are related and unrelated to UA
Able to process volume and move within industries rapidly and easily
Can perform analysis, diligence and documentation of the opportunity
Competent in financial modeling
Can manage many portfolio opportunities at one time.
Administer the deal scorecard
