UA ICON is Under Armour’s product customization platform. Founded in 2017, UA ICON allows athletes to design unique and meaningful product that will inspire them to perform their best. The program is growing, and it is now looking for an entrepreneurial individual to help shape the future of customization at Under Armour.
As our Associate Product & Operations Manager for UA ICON, you'll prepare all products for set up and launch across UA ICON’s Customization platforms. This includes, but is not limited to physical product development support, brand asset coordination, merchandising product alignment, design intent direction, and digital experience reviews Understanding of ICON’s go-to-market and product activation process will also be critical for hitting desired product launch dates. You will also be the primary contact for a range of product customization issues, as well as responsible for organizing and directing problems to the appropriate functions and team members. You will filter, with the Under Armour consumer lens, the customization experiences for accuracy and correct user functionality. As the UA ICON program continues to grow your role will be critical in ensuring the best end-to-end customer experience in store, online and beyond. Your insights will help drive Under Armour’s customization strategy with a focus on supporting Under Armour’s mission of Making Athlete’s Better
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
UA Global ICON- Global Customization
Align with Merchandising, Brand, Marketing, Design, Product Creation, Operations and Ecommerce functions to prepare products for set-up and launch
Manage new style onboarding process to ensure successful launches of UA ICON customization products
Actively participate in all production review meetings, departmental statuses, checkpoint and issue-resolution meetings.
Responsible for identifying, escalating and tracking progress for developmental and production issues for all products merchandised on UA ICON platforms
Ensure clear communication of status and next steps amongst the team regarding new and existing projects, scheduling and operations issues.
Lead ICON team in product creation process with ensuring that the finished physical products are ready on-time and that all graphics, color combinations, and componentry execute as expected
Works with the color and design team to select the color offerings, graphics, and color blockings; supports process to ensure that all graphics, color combinations, and componentry execute as expected.
Manages consumer insight research to shape evolution of Under Amour’s customization offerings including product strategy, customization capabilities and marketing approach
Conducts competitive research and identifies key industry trends to help inform the UA ICON strategy and roadmap
Accountable for working with UA Sports Marketing team to plan and execute activations with UA assets, including placing marketing orders with the factory, approving execution, and tracking order status.
Maintain and analyze physical product data (e.g., size offerings, component colors, graphics, color logic, etc.) across all systems to ensure cross-functional alignment, executes updates based on seasonal strategy
Co-create the development of the UA ICON strategy, positioning, and key stories for each season
Oversees physical and digital development requirements for marketing activations; communicates timelines to relevant stakeholders
Digital Customization Experience
Analyzes UA ICON data to ensure product offerings, capabilities, and messaging resonate with the target consumer
Manages digital development calendar and timelines with customization agency, regional teams, and global product teams, including key deliverable due dates, color, graphic or product activation plans, and marketing launches
Coordinates with Under Armour teams to execute UA ICON marketing activations, identifying key requirements and supporting digital and physical asset production
Works with global Ecomm and retail teams to develop and implement retail customization experience
Work in a dynamic environment, collaborating w/ your teammates – each day is different!
Report to and train under a seasoned product team member
Help your Product leads to outline and manage seasonal business plans to include category growth opportunity based on product range (styles/skus), price positioning, channel distribution, delivery launch and flow through
Work closely w/ your Product Leads to understand how to creatively drive your business by building profitable, market right, consumer right product that is inline w/ department and company financial targets
Have detailed knowledge of the product in your category – keeping record of fabric, trims, fit, costing and approval timelines pertaining to each style
Understand and regularly utilize sales plans and selling reports to interpret style information that is relevant to your categories
Be fluent with our systems, and relied on to maintain updated style information in our database
Establish and grow relationships w/ your counterparts in Product, Design, Sourcing
