Summary:
Under Armour is seeking a Director, Global Consumer Insights - Marketing to join the Global Consumer Insights team who is passionate about identifying consumer needs and behaviors. This role will lead, plan and conduct a wide variety of qualitative and quantitative studies to drive actionable insights for the business. Those studies will span across our sport and product categories. You will work with members of the Global Consumer Insights (GCI), Strategy, and Marketing Teams.  You will report directly to the VP, Global Consumer Insights based in Baltimore.
Responsibilities:
Lead strategic oversight of Consumer Insights related to Marketing Initiatives, and related to overall UA Corporate Strategy. Drive direction with stakeholders; determine critical success factors, long term learning agenda and associated activities to support the Marketing Team’s initiatives
Contribute to the development of the brand’s 5-year strategy (5YP).  Anticipate future opportunities via industry analysis, culture & trend forecasting and customer segment behaviors.
Communicate effectively and leverage an Enterprise Mindset at the C-suite level on a regular basis.  Overall, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the Marketing/Creative functions within the company.
Projects will cut across digital technology, media efficacy, process improvement and operation efficiency.
Inform business decisions through the oversight of consumer analytics related to occasion -based segmentation, sizing, valuation, behavior and brand regard.
Use data to evaluate performance; provide insightful recommendations, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the company’s sales and competitive positioning.
Work with Creative Teams to generate fresh and engaging campaign ideas to deliver loyalty and affinity.
Ensure the link between core Marketing initiatives and  e-commerce site, in-store retail immersion,  and social/digital experiences
Research and stay up to date with competitor programs, provide on-going updates and new ideas
Lead, plan and conduct a wide variety of internally-managed ad-hoc research projects (e.g. copy testing, focus groups, & mining syndicated data) to provide findings and actionable recommendations
Analyze our internal consumer database to understand connections between online, offline sales and macro consumer behavior trends as it relates to UA marketing mix.
Organize and coordinate research being performed by external partners
Critical Skills/Experiences/Attributes: Manager
A strong desire to understand what makes our consumer tick
A focused observer who is able to pull out and glean insights that lead to action
Self-starter
10-15 years focused experience designing and executing research studies with actionable results
A collaborator willing to work across a wide variety of groups
Resourceful team player who is able to work under remote management and accept travel responsibilities.
Experience working on qualitative and quantitative studies from start to finish including study design, recruitment, fielding, analysis & reporting.
Expert in copy testing and campaign modeling methodologies
Excellent communicator that can deliver information verbally and in written form to both senior and junior people within the organization
Project management skills and experience working on several complex projects concurrently
Solid analytics skills, ability to read and interpret data from multiple sources and deliver actionable recommendations
Experience with fielding surveys in Qualtrics or similar surveying technology
Statistical knowledge and experience, including experience annotating questionnaires, identifying statistical differences, and number checking reports
Expert in uncovering unmet needs and category drivers through both quantitative and qualitative techniques.
Education, experience or other requirements:
Survey tools (e.g. Qualtrics)
Analytics and Modeling software competency (SPSS, R, Python)
MBA or other Related Masters Preferred (Psychology, Sociology, Economics, Integrated Marketing)
