Summary:
The Lead, Benefits is responsible for managing the day-to-day administration of North America benefits programs and policies including leave, worker's compensation, disability and other related programs. The role is responsible for managing vendors and vendor processes with strong process and technical and data-related competencies. The Senior Benefits and Leave of Absence Lead oversees leave, disability and accommodation-related benefits administration utilizing strong analytical and excellent communication skills. The Senior Benefits and Leave of Absence Lead also oversees certain benefits programs such retirement and other voluntary programs. 
Duties and Accountabilities: 
Manage leave of absence (statutory and Company specific programs) by acting as liaison between vendor/administrator and employee; effectively communicating with managers; interfacing with legal as necessary. 
Manages the ADAAA accommodation process, using industry experience to conduct exploratory discussions with managers and employees to arrive at optimal solutions, and ensuring procedural follow through.
In coordination with the respective retirement plan vendors, ensures plan administration, programming and reporting is in compliance with plan provisions and legal requirements
Conducts and facilitates education and presentations of plan designs and provisions to employees as well as assists in the preparation of communications to participants for education
Works with management and legal counsel on maintaining respective plan documents and summary plan description
Utilizes demonstrated technical skills with respect to benefits data to conduct analysis, problem solve, conduct process improvement, spot trends, and resolve issues. 
Takes on several important benefits file related tasks requiring technical proficiency.
Manage vendor relationships to ensure quality and excellent customer service to the organization and to employees. Manage any vendor changes as it relates to our internal processes or procedures/communications to employees may be necessary.
Utilizes experience implementing new benefit vendors and strong benefits system testing skills to manage components of new implementations.
Ensures accurate and timely compliance with all Federal, state and city regulations. Specific accountabilities include but are not limited to: COBRA, HIPAA, managing updates and distribution of benefits notices as needed.
Ensures accurate documentation of health and welfare plan procedures in compliance with applicable regulations; and oversees administration of welfare plans based on ERISA and health and welfare plan documentation
Provide regular updates to Benefits management on performance and suggest corrective actions and or recommendations for improvement.
Manage day-to-day administration of benefits department processes by overseeing administrative tasks, researching employee issues, maintaining and coordinating benefits communications, and supporting special projects.
Work performed will be completed within strict processing schedules in order to meet the service level agreements and provide teammate services which contribute to the timely and accurate processing of employee pay.
Qualifications: 
Bachelor's Degree (required)
5-7 years of Benefits experience, including experience administering LOA and ADAAA accommodations. 
Strong working knowledge of benefits plans (Health and Welfare, Retirement, Wellness, other)
A consultative approach. Strong communication skills in a variety of channels (written, one-on-one, group).
Experience with new vendor implementations and overall vendor management.
In depth knowledge of benefits regulations such as COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, ACA and benefits-related DOL and IRS regulations.
Demonstrated data and technical skills (benefits systems, file comparisons, testing). 
Ability to organize and prioritize work.
Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information.
Ability to demonstrate compassion in the areas of life-threatening and chronic illness, grief and loss, individual and family
Possess excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
Detail oriented with high level of accuracy, and ability to manage time to coordinate simultaneous projects.
High degree of organizational skills, along with the ability to set priorities and work independently with minimum supervision.
Experience with HRIS systems, Success Factors and Kronos experience a plus.
Experience and knowledge of PC-bases computers and software experience using Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel ad Outlook.
