POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sr. Merchant role will collaborate with the Director of Flagship Merchandising & strategic category merchants to develop and lead the implementation of the Flagship Merchandising vision, strategy & tactics for the Global Flagships business resulting in sustainable, profitable growth and Brand health.  Additionally, he/she will fully own the oversight of product line architecture and share accountability for revenue and sell through of product assortment with investment team. Core responsibilities will include long range and seasonal management of the Global assortment strategies; partnering with categories and cross-category teams to develop compelling product stories and go-to-market operational discipline. This leader will work functionally and cross-functionally throughout UA to build a collaborative and supportive operating environment and be a consensus-builder who drives results.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create and optimize Global Flagship product assortments within the global range that will maximize potential for Flagship revenue and profit
Actively contribute to overall Flagship long range Merchandising strategy with a focus on Line Architecture, Lifecycle Management, Pricing Strategy, Segmentation, Franchise Management
Actively engage in Flagship data, consumer, marketplace, competitor and trend insights & analytics - leverage all available information to inform long-term & seasonal product strategies to achieve financial targets including all the afore-mentioned and: product mix & depth, pricing strategies and seasonal allocations
Management of product flow seasonally and regional launch cadence
Manage & deliver Flagship Merchandising GTM discipline. Ensuring deadlines are met to effectively bring strategies to life
Collaborate & effectively communicate with category, cross-category, cross-functional and regional teammates
Driving cross-functional partnership with Supply Chain, Finance, Global Retail, Visual Merchandising, Planning and Marketing to deliver against performance metrics
Partner with planning to analyze historical sales performances and use findings to inform merchandising strategies for future assortments
Partner with the Product team in assorting the Category, focusing on strategic targets, local market characteristics, budgets and SKU counts
Collaborate with Director of Flagship to discover new local artists, designers, brands, to collaborate with on exclusive and limited products
Partner with key category teammates on flagship product needs, product flow, and key Flagship cultural and sport moments
Operate in Merchandising and Product Line Management systems (Armoury, Trasix, etc.)
Partner with Visual Merchandising and Global Retail to communicate big ideas, key investments, strategies & special needs projections
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to influence cross-functional partners through strong and proven relationships
Ability to successfully lead a cross-functional pod
Ability to communicate product strategies verbally and in writing
Strong analytical and conceptual skills
Ability to provide mentorship to junior-level teammates and cross-functional partners (when applicable)
Understand the nuances around M&W’s businesses and their consumer
Knowledge of past and current product offerings and overarching category strategies
Knowledge and discipline around GTM processes and calendar
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree Required
Minimum of 5-7 years of merchandising or product experience with increased responsibility; at least 2-3 years specific to merchandising experience
Global industry experience in consumer products
Proven experience with a variety of go-to-market models (direct-to-consumer, wholesale, retail, etc.) in a highly-matrixed organization
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to travel domestically and internationally (5-10%)
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
