Summary
Under Armour is looking for a Director to join the North America Strategy organization. This position will focus on driving and managing all aspects of UA’s Licensed and Accessories business, serving as a key liaison between the Brand and partners, ensuring revenue and royalty targets are achieved and serving as a key contributor to strategizing, planning and delivering future growth, as well as representing the Accessories category at key go-to-market meetings and sell-ins. This role will be tasked with providing internal and external leadership- helping identify, define and target growth opportunities in both new and existing business lines and will help ensure Under Armour products are powerfully positioned in the market to drive sales and compelling storytelling for the brand.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Deliver revenue, and in partnership with licensees, royalty targets aligned with annual operating plan and five year planning cycle. Analyze competitive landscape and user segmentation to develop a strong product roadmap to introduce new Brand-right product opportunities.
Drive licensing-specific strategy for North America in partnership with Global Product, Global and Regional Merchandising, Regional Account Marketing, Visual Merchandising, and Sales.
Drive increased sales and sell-thru in targeted sales channels and product categories by partnering with global accessories teams and licensees to align strategies and assortments with account needs, creating “test-and-roll” opportunities, partnering with the NA sales team and accounts to secure incremental floor space (PDQs, Aisle Fixtures, End Caps), and supporting other business growth initiatives as appropriate.
Participate as a key stakeholder in the 5-year strategic planning as part of the Corporate 5YP planning process and calendar, as well as the Annual Operating Plan. Own target setting, the numbers associated with each and deliver the results.
Analyze forecasts and POS-sales to use data driven insights to identify white space either within existing retailers or with new partners.  Measure the ROI of accessories or licensing-specific initiatives to shape the strategy for future seasons.
Liaise with Global Accessories and Licensing teams to keep them abreast of North America POS selling and strategy.
Scope and communicate go-to-market calendar, promotional cadence, launch calendar, segmentation and other information to internal and external partners. Ensure licensees are key stakeholders in the formulation and execution of strategies.
Partner closely with VP NA Sales, VP Accessories & Licensing to drive alignment and leverage opportunities across North America.
Coordinate Quarterly Business Review meetings with licensees so that they can provide an update on wholesale performance and strategy.  Identify risks and opportunities in their revenue plan.  Partner with licensees to develop a strategic plan and follow-through on any action items coming out of QBR.
Attend licensee key account meetings to support their sell-ins and offer the Brand POV.  Equip licensees with strategies, assets & templates to incorporate in their account-facing presentations to further their synergy with our Brand.
Drive new account approval process for licensees, ensuring new distribution aligns with our strategy and is Brand-right.  Amend the contracts as necessary to adjust minimum royalty guarantees accordingly.
       Education, Experience, Attributes
12+ years sales experience in digital and/or brick-and-mortar retail.
Data analysis experience and proven ability to distill data from sales reports, business trends and various sources to isolate key insights and drive an action plan
Financial planning experience. Ability to apply business assumptions to set financial plans based on understand of sales landscape.
Smart, creative, compelling, driven. Not afraid to lead others past their comfort zone(s).  Creates a sense of urgency.
A fit with UA’s cultural values. Serves as an owner of his/her business.
Bachelor’s degree required. MBA preferred.
