As a Materials Lab Analyst you will support Under Armour’s research and development of high perfomance materials. The role helps to assure adherence with Under Armour’s end use material standards. The responsiblities span from conducting industry and internal test methods in the Under Armour internal testing laboratory to analyzing and reporting data. The role requires fast and reliable analysis of development submits, communication of Under Armour material standards and effective involvement with development and sourcing to help guide data/performance based decisions. This all must occur within a demanding environment that seeks to balance our simultaneous commitment to quality, innovation, cost containment, delivery and social/environmental improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary responsibility is the conducting of lab testing of materials and finished goods in support of the Innovation Team’s developments.Conduct all testing in a timely & organized manner.
Input all test data into Under Armour databases allowing for analysis of variability and historical reference.
Effectively communicate test results to Innovation & Product Development teams and/or other key stakeholders. 

Assist the Innovation leadership in validating marketing claims, utilizing testing methods if necessary.
Assist the lab team in evolving/maintaining standard operating procedures pertaining to materials and testing. 
Actively participate in the development, utilization, and maintenance of lab equipment and material information systems.  
Help support an on-going Quality Assurance procedure with all vendors using adequate submit systems and vendor supplied test data.
Stay current in new technologies, processes, industry trends and changes in test methodologies. Re-evaluate appropriateness of test requirements for intended end use of material types as needed.
Work in conjunction with the Innovation Wear Test team to help validate/verify lab results to “real world” use.  
Participate in trade shows, tours and clinics as needed (Some overseas travel will be required).

Education and/or Experience 
BS or 5+ years of laboratory experience in Textiles, Material Science or other related field 
Knowledge of fiber characteristics, textile processing and textile testing, gained through college curriculum and/or equivalent work experience.
Basic understanding of Quality Management and Statistical Quality Control concepts and practices, based on work experience or study.
Basic understanding of industry test methods pertaining to materials (ASTM, ISO, JIS, etc.).
