POSITION SUMMARY:
The Planner I – Men’s & Boy’s Train will assist with the development of seasonal targets, the conception of the category line architecture and is responsible for the creation of the Category Merchandise Plan at the style level. The Planner I is a strategic partner to the GM, Merchants and Product line managers. A planner 1 is expected to understand and articulate the health of the business back to the team, and help model out opportunities or risks, and assist with decisions making around segmentation, allocations, pricing strategies and flow.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with the development and maintenance of top line category targets for sales growth, demand, style/SKU counts, and $ productivity by category for each GTM season.
Assist the team with the strategic vision for the category architecture including segmentation, allocations, pricing and article flow. Leverage data/analytics including: ST%, Sell-in, Color analytics, etc.
Establish Seasonal style level forecast that ultimately mirror back to seasonal targets and corporate 5yp strategies. This includes GMP.5 Allocation pass as well as the GMP1 style less pass.
Build and maintain style-color level allocation plans by region using door count, ST%, weeks-on-floor and AUD methodology. Collaborate extensively with regions to ensure transparency and alignment of allocation strategy. (i.e. Curry Golf)
Review and analyze complex historical trends & data to optimize future forecasts & to inform strategies and action plans. Understand and articulate the health of the business back to the team. Partner with the planning manager and merchants to model out opportunity or risks
Asset Management: Prepare category performance scorecards (sell through results, future opportunities/risks). Partner with GMs to prepare for quarterly business reviews for finance team. Complete ad-hoc analysis as needed. (i.e. Spieth)
Ensure accurate maintenance of planning-owned data fields. Complete prescribed templates to facilitate target/ plan submissions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to analyze complex quantitative data
Problem solving skills to identify root cause and potential solves of reporting and forecasting anomalies
Communication skills to clearly explain forecast logic to cross functional stakeholders. Problem solving skills to identify root cause and potential solves of reporting and forecasting anomalies.
Excellent partnership, collaboration and presentation skills.
Excellent in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and BI reporting tools; planning system experience a plus
Track record of hitting time lines and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in retail math, forecasting methodology and excel skills.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree or related experience.
Minimum 1-2 years merchandise planning, store planning, inventory or other business planning experience
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Travel – less than 10%
