Department: Commercial - Store Development Reports to: Director of ConstructionLocation:  North Vancouver, B.CYour Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:As the Construction Project Specialist, you will serve as the key support function through the design development and construction execution of our stores. You will support the project team within Store Development from the architectural permit set to financial project close out. Working closely with the internal and external project team, you will provide assistance on scope development, budgeting, procurement, and site support, and will manage the project performance, relationships, and costs of external owner furnished item vendors.Is this role open to relocation support? NoMeet Your Future Team:The Store Development Team collaborates with key stakeholders and strategic partners in the global development of new retail stores by identifying future locations, assessing the viability, developing business cases/executive summaries for proposed locations, and working with regional teams to develop a three year market plan. This position will work collaboratively with other members of the Store Development team, Store Designers, as well as directly with the Vice President, Store Development to build stores on time and on budgetIf you were the Construction Project Specialist now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:! Supporting project through development while tracking to key milestones and adhering to established budget and schedule metrics! Maintaining strong relationships with internal business units and cross-functional partners to ensure that new standards and processes are understood and incorporated into the execution of projects! Managing the performance and relationships of owner furnished item vendors during the course of construction, and actively participates in vendor onboarding, QBRs, and provides feedback to ensure a culture of continuous improvement! Managing the procurement and bidding of owner furnished items! Providing direct management for small scope projects! Accountability for financial project administration (creating purchase orders, receiving payments, solving invoice discrepancies, and producing project budget reconciliations)! Tracking construction project costs, evaluating incoming change orders for accuracy, maintaining a log of potential project costs to allow for timely approvals and reporting, and managing weekly reporting on project progress for leadership as requested! Coordinating vendor performance during execution and ensuring that the performance enables delivery of store projectsHere are some of the things you could be working on in the future:! You have a bachelors degree or other postsecondary education in Construction Project Management, Engineering or Architectural Technology, or a related field! You have 3+ years of project coordination experience within retail and/or commercial development, or a combination of equivalent experience! You have excellent communication and collaboration skills (internally and externally)! You are versatile and able to manage multiple projects in various stages at any one time in the life cycle of a project! You are practiced in development processes, procurement, vendor management, client relations! You have a continuous improvement mindset, to improve both self, team, and our extended partner network! You are proficient in MS Office, Excel, SharePoint, and Smartsheet! You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions! You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity! You seek the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment to do what is right!
