Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:As the Director of Colour at Arc’teryx, you will lead the colour creative vision across all global product categories. You will work closely with creative partners in Design, Trend and Brand to craft the Arc’teryx colour aesthetic. Your creative leadership and colour insights will empower, motivate and lead your team to execute a world class colour strategy that supports Arc’teryx design values, consumer needs, and company goals. Meet Your Future Team:The Colour Design Team is a hub that links the product design and visual merchandising process with the guest experience. We balance creativity, design, process, and logistics to ensure the successful execution of the Arc’teryx colour design philosophy.If you were in the Director, Colour position now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing: ! Building, coaching, and guiding a high performing team in the execution of a world class colour strategy that is aligned with Arc’teryx design values, customer needs, and company goals! Instituting and driving the colour philosophy and vision across all product categories! Establishing and maintaining a sustainable pipeline of talent to meet our evolving creative needs in colour, and aesthetic! Leading the forecasting and strategizing of colour insights that will support our product direction for seasonal, regional, and multichannel collections! Providing mentorship in colour excellence to maintain our strong competitive differentiator in the market! Identifying and communicating top line priorities for all seasonal colour deliverables! Guiding, critiquing, and authorizing the selection of new colour standards and the creation of seasonal palettes! Overseeing the optimization of the colour design process by leveraging the raw material metrics and complexity! Providing input and collaboration on the development of the seasonal merchandising plans and implementation! Providing input and collaboration on the development of innovative, effective seasonal merchandising tools! Creating and setting the tone for the aesthetics critique process! Fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration by encouraging mentorships between key talentAre you our next Director, Colour?! You have a post-secondary education in Apparel Design or related field, and 10+ years’ experience in colour, design, or trend insights! You have an advanced colour acuity! You have an awareness of changing trends and global markets from a colour perspective! You have an extensive knowledge of colour theory and principles of colour harmony! You have an innate talent in the application of colour to materials! You have the ability to build strong cross-departmental connections to increase operational excellence! You have previous experience with line development and merchandising! You have a proven track record of successful product launches! You have insight into the retail buying process! You have a detailed knowledge of manufacturing lead times! You have an understanding of minimum order quantities and quality control procedures! You have a knowledge of Arc’teryx of other similar products and their applications! You have an advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite! You set a clear vision, align your team around common objectives, and foster commitment to these objectives! You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues, seeking the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions with an unwavering commitment to do what is right! You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity! You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration! You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement!
