Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:  The Manager, Software Quality is responsible for the delivery of high-quality software, IS customer relationship management, and the overall health of IS systems and internal processes.  In this role, you will provide leadership and mentoring in quality assurance (QA) and software testing as part of the IS team across ERP and Web systems. You are responsible for providing a roadmap for QA resources, thought leadership in QA to the organization, and quality practices throughout the development life cycle. Meet Your Future Team: The Quality Assurance Team works closely with Information Systems Development teams to provide confidence in software quality before any feature is released into Production. Each individual member of the Quality Assurance team is empowered to collaborate within cross-functional teams in order to reach the finish line together and deliver to our Users, whether they are within the company or our guests. If you were the Manager, Software Quality now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing: ! Leading in-house and contractor quality assurance team members to successfully design and execute test cases  ! Creating test and automation strategies and defining needs to meet the IS Technical Roadmap ! Managing, mentoring, evaluating, and providing leadership to QA team members ! Advocating for quality within the organization ! Maintaining cohesiveness between the web and ERP sides of the QA team, ensuring cross training and keeping team morale high ! Managing vendor and stakeholder communication ! Driving automation testing and CI/CD  ! Point of contact for the team for all testing and quality assurance activities ! Advocating and ensuring that the team performs the prescribed quality practices ! Identifying the quality risk and potential impact/mitigation to the team, product manager or owner, and program manager ! Coordinating with other teams to plan and execute UAT ! Escalating issues or obstacles appropriately and in a timely manner ! Provide insightful input to retrospectives Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future: ! Ensuring that the QA Team has the tools that will set them up for success ! Listening to your team members and unblocking any issues that may arise ! Collaborating with Program Managers to ensure that scoped projects have proper QA resources Are you our next Manager, Software Quality? ! You have a Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or technical discipline, or equivalent related field ! You have 5+ years’ Quality Assurance experience  ! You have 2+ years’ in leadership capacity in Quality Assurance and/or Testing ! You have experience with the following: ! Resource planning  ! Using Agile with Scrum Methodology ! Testing web sites and web services ! Automation tools like cucumber, selenium, etc. ! Scripting languages like ruby, python, C#, etc. ! You are a functional expert in QA strategies and techniques ! You have excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail ! You have excellent written and verbal communication skills ! You have a demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences ! You set a clear vision, align your team around common objectives, and foster commitment to these objectives ! You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions ! You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity ! You are able to balance autonomy and collaboration ! You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement !
