Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:As a Retail Brand Environmental Designer, you will be a collaborative member of the Retail Brand Marketing pod, and partner often with the Retail Store Design team. You will develop brand and seasonal campaigns into innovative retail + experience concepts. Your strong understanding of graphic design, architecture, physical experiences, and the retail landscape enables you to connect the consumer to our brand and our product through premium in-store executions. With vertical retail experience, you thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. You’re a team player with passion, curiosity and a continuous drive to explore and evolve the brand via design.This role is primarily based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.Meet Your Future Team:The Brand Creative team is hands-on and iterative; building creative with the same passion embodied in our product. Art Directors, Graphic Designers, Photographers, Stylists, Videographers, Editors, Environmental Designers and Craftspeople create a wide spectrum of skills to be deployed. The team is comfortable behind the pen, on an exposed ridgeline, and in any global city. You will be a key member of the Brand Retail pod, working to bring projects and deliverables to life. You will work cross-functionally with our partners in Retail, Store Design, Brand Marketing and Brand Operations.If you were the Retail Environmental Designer now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:! Collaborating with the Retail Brand Marketing pod, Retail store design team and/or a Creative Agency to create global seasonal retail directives for both brand and campaign! Developing and adapting retail concepts for all channels (brand stores, partner stores, factory outlets, shop-in-shop, tradeshow, etc) ! Creating 3D executions/experiences and translating 3D concepts into 2D mock-ups that facilitate comprehension to stakeholders and are realistic in cost against a budget! Researching and helping to execute full scope of design work from concept to output for each project! Preparing retail directives, concepts, layouts, and mock-ups as needed for projects using Adobe CC Suite and/or traditional tools, multimedia software and 3D image processing software! Providing design guidance and consultation for all retail initiatives! Meticulously maintaining visual hierarchy, consistent typography, brand standards, appropriate seasonal tone, spelling, and version control across multiple projects! Communicating our brand effectively through conceptualizing and producing graphic art and visual materials for retail that adheres to brand standards! Working with Brand Operations partner to track time to and meet time sensitive deadlines! Working independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support all areas of Marketing with graphic design needs! Supporting other design and production activities as assignedHere are some of the things you could be working on in the future:! Researching new market trends, innovative materials and processes related to retail! Ideating around the evolution of our workspacesAre you our next Retail Brand Environmental Designer?! You have a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Graphic Arts, Architecture, Industrial Design, Design or a related field! You have 3+ years of Environmental Design, Architectural Design, Graphic Design, or a combination of related work experience! You have excellent design and verbal/visual communication skills ! You have excellent ability to create, understand and translate 3D concepts into 2D mock-ups! You have experience with both Mac and PC platforms! You are proficient in Adobe CC Suite, AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Smartsheet and MS Office! You have demonstrated the ability to proof-read text in English to a very high standard! You have strong knowledge of current retail landscape and the latest trends and innovations! You have a strong ability to drive work to ensure deadlines are met! You are extremely organized! You are detail oriented with a meticulous eye for visual consistency! You are driven to problem solve and open to learn! You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions! You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity! You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration! You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement!
