Your opportunity at Arc’teryx:As a Sourcing Specialist, you are responsible for supporting the global sourcing strategy and the development process from seasonal kick-off through to production readiness.  Your innovative and details-focused approach to research, evaluate, onboard, and support new vendors ensures Arc’teryx has a qualified and diversified supply matrix as we expand our manufacturing capability and drive continuous improvement in innovation, agility, quality, and cost.  The Sourcing Specialists are passionate about building engagement with our supply chain partners and bringing our product to life. We work to understand key product drivers and to apply and inform these drivers to our product engine.Meet your future team:The Sourcing Team builds and executes a sustainable global sourcing strategy that enables us to deliver exceptional product at the right place, with the right quality and cost, and on-time. You will partner internally with Design, Product, Quality, Compliance, Supply Chain, Sustainability as well as externally with our vendor partners to identify and fulfill the sourcing needs of your category and deliver all product developed and commercialized by our vendors. If you were the Sourcing Specialist now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:! Researching and assessing new vendors to support sourcing and product strategies! Onboarding new vendors to ensure their successful integration into Arc’teryx supply matrix! Contributing to the development process by providing insight into cost drivers and trade opportunities! Providing product cost estimates and vendor cost negotiations to meet and/or exceed target FOB/margins for new product! Working directly with global vendors to accurately communicate seasonal requirements: capacity plan, vendor line plan, model development details, buy ready and production ready specifications! Collaborating with global and own factory base to provide manufacturing input to our Product teams that will improve scalability, efficiency and enable quality in our manufacturing base! Communicating calendar deliverables, including but not limited to sample development, material validation, costing, compliance testing, quality evaluation and approval requirements with key stakeholders! Supporting Sourcing, Product Development, and Quality in the training of new factory resources and ensure that Arc’teryx brand standards are met! Identifying gaps and opportunities, working with Sourcing and Product Development to drive process improvement with a lean forward attitude to drive evolution within the design to manufacturing processHere are some of the things you could be working on in the future:! Contributing to process improvement with cross functional partners! Reporting on team metrics! Supporting the execution of the vendor strategyAre you our next Sourcing Specialist?! You have 3+ years’ experience in product development (developing product/process) or sourcing with a focus on technical, innovative apparel and equipment! You have an Undergraduate Degree OR equivalent industry training, certification, or related business experience! You have experience effectively communicating with, and travelling to domestic and offshore vendors and manufacturers! You have experience in product costing and negotiation skills! You have a comprehensive understanding of design intent, product aesthetics, construction, production and fit! You have a complete understanding of the product lifecycle process - from ideation to consumer! You have a strong knowledge of raw materials, technical construction, and sourcing! You are detailed and accuracy oriented with strong organizational skills! You demonstrate initiative, agility and commitment! You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions! You are goal driven with a results-oriented attitude! You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration! You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity! You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement!
