Department: EMEA - Marketing Reports to: Director, Marketing - EMEA Location: Garching, Munich, GermanyYour Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:As the Manager, Sports Marketing – EMEA, you are accountable for developing the Sports Marketing strategy in the region. You lead a team focused on owned and sponsored events development, and athlete and guide management. You are responsible for the development of sports marketing plans including best-in-class consumer event experiences and athlete team acquisition and progression. You channel athlete and event generated content across regional and global departments such as Brand Communications, Digital, Social, Community, Trade and Retail Marketing.  • • Please note this is a full-time temporary role until end of September 2023.• •   Meet Your Future Team:The Sports Marketing team is the direct connection between the guest and the Arc’teryx brand through content and experiences in EMEA. As the leader of the Sports Marketing team, you will oversee events and athlete marketing activations for Arc’teryx in EMEA while working closely with the Community team, Brand Communications, Retail & Trade Marketing in EMEA, as well as with the global Brand team at HQ.The Sports Marketing team works as part of the EMEA Marketing team, and reports to the Marketing Director.If you were the Manager, Sports Marketing – EMEA now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:• Building the Arc’teryx Sports Marketing strategy for the EMEA region• Managing the owned and sponsored sports marketing events in the region to deliver best-in-class consumer brand experiences• Developing, leading, and executing the Arc’teryx Academies, including partnerships management, fundraising, event content development, and coordination with other regional and global marketing teams• Developing the brand’s athlete program in three key categories: Ski, Climb, and Run, ensuring on-brand content creation• Ensuring athletes’ integration across relevant consumer facing touchpoints (communications, wholesale, retail) as well as internal functions (People and Culture, R&D)• Working closely with Global Sports Marketing counterparts to identify opportunities and synergies across the business• Expending your network of existing and potential athletes, guides and associations to gather trend insights and market opportunities• Being a brand representative and ambassador in the outdoor sports• Owning and managing an assigned budget Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:• Spearheading the Arc’teryx’ athletes team development into a best in-class authentic yet high-visibility program.• Building a scalable event template for the expansion of the Arc’teryx Academy event franchise in the region• Investigating and developing partnership opportunities supporting the Brand’s awareness and rooting it in the core of the activities (ski/climb/run)Are you our next Manager, Sports Marketing – EMEA?• You have 7+ years of Sport Marketing management experience, including event planning and athlete team management, preferably within in the outdoor industry• You have 2+ years of experience operating as a people manager • You have a bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field• You have the ability to move with our athletes in the environments that they choose to play in• You have excellent planning and project management skills• You have strong organizational and time-management with the ability to multi-task• You are highly motivated and energetic with great interpersonal skills and exceptional communication skills • You have a strong direct-to-consumer marketing knowledge and a deep understanding of the consumer journey• You have exceptional presentation and communication skills in English (spoken and written), and you are proficient in another European language• You have strong experience in budget management• You have solid direct to consumer (DTC) marketing knowledge• You are familiar and passionate about the Arc’teryx brand.• You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions• You are able to take difficult decisions when faced with ambiguity• You remain highly flexible and adaptable• You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration• You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement• You seek the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment to do what is right• Your passion for your work is paralleled by your passion for getting outside and living it!Equal OpportunityArc’teryx is committed to actively creating and fostering a culture of inclusivity where voices are heard, people are seen, and values are respected.
