Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:As the Software Quality Analyst, you will be responsible for testing new and modified software functionality and features and ensuring they meet the quality standards that are understood and accepted at Arc’teryx. Testing is executed manually, and by using and creating automation/test scripts. When required, you will also assist Business Analysts and Software Developers with collecting and documenting business requirements and creating specifications for new features development.Meet Your Future Team:The Quality Assurance Team works closely with Information Systems Development teams to provide confidence in software quality before any feature is released into Production. Each individual member of the Quality Assurance team is empowered to collaborate within cross-functional teams in order to reach the finish line together and deliver to our Users, whether they are within the company or our guests. If you were the Software Quality Analyst now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:! Reviewing of background material to understand the work purpose and objectives, documented requirements, and/or User Stories. ! Working closely with the stakeholders (Development Team, product owners, etc.) to develop an overall QA/Test Strategy and Product Test Plan, for projects of varying size.! Designing, developing and maintaining Test Plans, Test Cases, Test Scenarios and/or Test Scripts based on requirements for System Integration, Functional, Regression, Performance, and Acceptance Testing! Preparing test data and the setup of the test environment. ! Managing and monitoring User Acceptance Testing with key business users! Tracking of defects and deficiencies for submission, review, triage and resolution.! Working closely with project managers to assess and triage issues or risks, while having a voice on “go/no go” release decisions.! Ensuring systems function according to business requirements and user expectations, by applying strong critical thinking and analytical skills! Developing user documentation for new features and providing end user support ! Championing quality guidelines and standards (including QA best practices) ! Supporting the Lead Quality Analyst and Manager, Software Quality with other projects and tasks as requiredHere are some of the things you could be working on in the future:! Working collaboratively as part of a cross functional team with business analysts and software developers ! Leading the mentorship, training and onboarding of junior quality analyst team members ! Breaking down User Story acceptance criteria into testable scenarios and providing QA input for Story Points! Providing insight on sad path tests, exploratory tests and edge case testsAre you our next the Software Quality Analyst?! You have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related technical field! You have 3+ years of recent software QA and Testing experience in application and data validation testing, preferably with experience on C# & SQL. ! You have experience with functional testing, integration testing, developing test plans, test scenarios, writing and executing test scripts. ! You have experience with XML, JSON, HTML, SQL, SOAP, REST, web standards, and testing Windows and web application and services. ! You have knowledge and experience with Agile project tracking tools and JIRA ! You have previous experience with black box testing and some white box testing! You are familiar with business enterprise applications and business process areas (ie. accounting, order entry, inventory management, etc.)! You have strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a keen ability for problem solving! You have proven organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities! You have exceptional prioritization and multi-tasking abilities, and demonstrated experience meeting strict delivery deadlines ! You have effective time management and prioritization skills ! You have strong oral and written communication skills and an excellent command of English! You have a driven attitude and a passion for championing quality in all forms ! You have an understanding of IS concepts, including data models and application integrations! You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions! You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity! You are able to balance autonomy and collaboration! You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement!
