As the Vice President of Strategy and Enterprise Project Management Office (VP-Strategy & PMO), your responsibilities will focus on leading our company strategic planning activities and standing up a new enterprise-wide project management office capability. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing select cross functional strategic planning processes and project management for enterprise-wide initiatives across the organization. You will lead quantitative and qualitative analysis of strategic initiatives in partnership with cross-functional business stakeholders to formulate recommendations and insights using your strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and exceptional communications skills. You play a critical role in executing the project management and strategic planning process; to include quarterly business reviews and the development of board materials and executive presentations. You are a self-starter who excels as a thought-partner bringing structure, insights and clarity to complex problems converting them into actionable opportunities and recommendations.This role is primarily based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. Meet Your Future Team: The VP-Strategy & Enterprise PMO is a trusted thought leader and partner to the executive leadership team in the development, prioritization, and oversight of our company strategies working cross-functionally across the business to ensure attainment of our long-term strategic objectives and goals. The Enterprise PMO team provides strategic insights and frameworks to enable strategy development, cross-functional alignment and executive decision making. We are experts at translating complex, unstructured problems into clear executive level narrative and recommendations. Our team leads the company’s long-range strategic planning process, quarterly business reviews and the development of an integrated performance management framework to connect our strategy to our annual operating budget and tactical operating plan.If you were the VP-Strategy & Enterprise PMO now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:! The VP-Strategy & Enterprise PMO will establish and implement standard procedures for business analysis, project management and execution! Organize and facilitate the end-to-end annual strategic planning process at the enterprise level; incorporating market analysis, initiative planning, and critical analysis across all business units in support! Lead the ongoing evolution of the critical Quarterly Business Review process at corporate level! Lead project management activities for strategic initiatives at the enterprise level to support cross functional program success! This individual will provide leadership, coordination, strategic direction and management of all associated processes and functions! The position ensures the strategic alignment of project and business requirements, while providing visible reporting on project status, tracking, financial implications, and overall performance! Establish, develop, and lead the ongoing development and implementation of best practices within the PMO for the purpose of achieving business goals and to support the smooth running of projects undertaken by the organization! Develop and implement processes to monitor, set appropriate milestones and track overall project performance, and establish PMO best practices throughout the organizationHere are some of the things you could be working on in the future:! Evolving our global planning and performance management process connecting strategy, annual budgeting, operating plan to QBRs! Building depth and breadth of capabilities within the strategy function! Partnering with the business to facilitate execution of key strategic initiatives! Conducting market and macroeconomic research to evaluate emerging strategic opportunities, perform competitive analysis / benchmarking, develop consumer insights, formulate hypotheses and opportunities! Partnering with cross-functional stakeholders across the company to translate opportunities into defined business strategy and recommendations! Analyzing critical issues and provide actionable recommendations to support strategic and operational decisions! Managing timeline, stakeholders, and deliverables to support the execution of long-range strategic planning process and quarterly business reviews! Partnering with key stakeholders across the organization to articulate PMO strategic objectives, goals, initiatives and KPIs! Developing corporate scorecards and frameworks to monitor and measure progress against our strategic goals and objectives! Assisting in the prioritization of our Enterprise PMO and strategic priorities by developing a framework and process to facilitate alignment and decision making across the business! Developing key deliverables for the Enterprise PMO function including board materials & executive presentations Are you our next VP, Strategy and Enterprise Project Management Office?! Demonstrated experience in leading global Project Management Office with experience leading a Enterprise PMO! High level of emotional intelligence, influencing skills, and communication skills to enable collaboration with a variety of key stakeholders including senior executive stakeholders! 10 years of experience in Project Management in the retail marketplace and retail industry ! Strong business and financial acumen, including strong problem-solving skills, data analysis, critical thinking, business analysis and organizational skills! Excellent verbal and written communication skills! You have a proven track record in building cross-functional relationships with ability to influence others across different levels within the organization! You are a proficient “story-teller” with demonstrated ability to build strategic narratives and impactful executive-level presentations! You have strong facilitation, analytical and presentation skills with a proven track record in breaking down complex, ambiguous business problems into structured approaches and actions! You demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills in your work with senior executives across various geographies! You excel in project management, problem solving, verbal and written communication! You are a strategic thinker and a fast learner with a strong business acumen! You have passion for building new capabilities and functions from ground-up ! You are flexible and highly resilient to change and ambiguity! You are entrepreneurial, self-starter and results driven with ability to work independently with limited information!
