Arc'teryx is seeking a Manager, Fit & Pattern Engineering in North Vancouver, British Columbia (Canada).
Job Purpose:
As the Manager, Fit & Pattern Engineering, you establish and maintain brand fit, product construction standards and pattern engineering practices across all product categories. You lead a team of fit and pattern experts, strengthening expertise across the business through technical and leadership training to ensure these standards are upheld globally.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• You build, coach and guide a high performing Fit & Pattern team in line with Arc’teryx values and company goals
• You establish a sustainable pipeline of patterning talent
• You establish and maintain brand fit standards and integrity
• In collaboration with Design and Global Commercial teams, you determine and implement global fit strategy
• You consult with Product Line Management and Marketing teams on consumer fit intent and sizing guides
• You partner with Product teams to establish and maintain category and brand fit, including consistent use of block pattern library by all categories
• You establish and maintain grading and stature adjustment strategies to meet global and regional fit requirements
• You strengthen expertise in Product Patternmakers and the Fit & Pattern team through technical leadership and training
• You work with Advanced R&D, Design, Product and Quality teams to establish and communicate new pattern and construction methods through the lens of manufacturability
• You partner with the Quality team to ensure new product meets brand construction and fit standards prior to commercialization
• You manage workload within the Pattern team to ensure development and production deadlines are met
• You ensure adequately trained and experienced people are in place to meet departmental objectives, including training programs
• You train external partner factories as required and ensure compliance with brand standards
• You establish and maintain computer pattern libraries
• You troubleshoot problems and ensure regular maintenance of computer software and equipment
• You establish strong relationships with local industry training institutions and develop patternmaking apprenticeship program to harness incoming talent
