Reports to:  Manager, Development Team

Job purpose:As a Pattern Maker 2, you work with the Integrated Product, Production, and Design teams to interpret design intent into production ready patterns which meet Arc’teryx quality, fit and construction expectations.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities: ! You interpret design intent, create prototype, sample and production patterns, ensuring that methods and documentation are consistent with known factory methods and processes
! You work with design to establish standard fit by product category and end use and ensure product size and fit consistency
! You contribute to the creation and use of block pattern library
! You maintain computer pattern libraries, ensuring changes are clearly communicated to Product Developers, Graders and Marker Makers
! In collaboration with Designers and Product Developers, you establish and document product construction standards and illustrated technical specifications for all product
! You effectively communicate with Designers, Sample Sewers, Product Developers, and Factory partners, building strong business relationships
! You maintain accurate pattern lists and templates in The Arc’teryx System (TAS) spec
! You provide accurate raw material yields to Product Developers during prototype development
! You develop and maintain accurate finished garment measurement specifications
! You report on prototype and sample progress to ensure development and production deadlines are met
! You support and report Integrated Product Team metrics for timeline, costs and product solutions that meet supply chain needs
! You maintain grading when modifying production patterns
! You assist in grading and marker making where required
! You troubleshoot problems and ensure regular maintenance of computer software and equipment
! You participate in organized training programs
! You support with other projects as assigned

Additional experience, education and/or skills (required):! Required
! You have 5+ years’ in production pattern making for an apparel retailer
! You have a post-secondary education in Design or a related apparel field
! You have 3+ years’ experience using: Gerber Accumark, Lectra or Optitex
! You have the ability to work from pattern blocks or from sketches
! You have an excellent knowledge of garment construction
! You are proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
! You have effective English oral and written communications skills
! You have an excellent attention to detail, including accurate data entry skills
! You have strong interpersonal skills
! You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues, seeking the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions with an unwavering commitment to do what is right
! You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
! You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration
! You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement
