About the job

Job purpose: As the Materials Operations Assistant, you provide efficient operational and administrative assistance enabling the creative function of the materials team to thrive.Key responsibilities and accountabilities: ! You seasonally create New Material Forms, distribute to suppliers, and file into Centric ensuring alignment with developers, specialists and associated timelines.! You own the Material development PO process which includes creating PO's for development yardage and issuing to suppliers! You are responsible for ordering, receiving and tagging seasonal counter sample yardage through collaboration with the Development team and Purchasing ! You create, maintain and update the Materials team calendar! You are responsible for updating and maintaining the Materials library for seasonal and reference items ! You are responsible for sorting and distributing packages to and from the team and supporting shipping/receiving! You own the Materials Development Tracker (Smartsheet), reviewing the process of raw material receipts and implementing changes to support stakeholders as needed! You support the team with the administrative onboarding of new suppliers in collaboration with Purchasing and Compliance! You support the team with supplier visits and travel bookings! You coordinate internal meetings and events recording minutes as needed! You create and establish new templates and tools to support the Materials team in their day-to-day activities including any specific needs and projects! You provide general operational assistance to the Material Team Manager as neededAdditional experience, education and/or skills:! Required! You have post-secondary education OR equivalent experience in a production or administration role, ideally within the fashion or technical sports industry! You have highly effective verbal and written communication skills ! You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills! You have strong time management, prioritization and organizational skills! You have excellent computer skills with a proficiency in Microsoft Office ! You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues, seeking the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions with an unwavering commitment to do what is right! You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity! You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration! You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement! Your passion for your work is paralleled by your passion for getting outside and living it! Assets! You have a strong knowledge base in all aspects of clothing/equipment construction and textile raw materials! You have experience working on PLM software tools!
