About the job

Job purpose: As a Colour Design Assistant you work closely with and support Colour Designers in the creative process and the execution of seasonal colour plans. You will also play a key role in processing the complex matrix of coloured raw materials required to complete the Arc’teryx line.Key responsibilities and accountabilities: ! You support Colour Designers throughout the creative colour development process and assist in executing seasonal colour direction of assigned portfolios! Under the guidance and mentorship of colour design team members, you collaborate in the completion of all assigned colourway trim specifications and/or complete colourways! You assist with preparation of internal and external presentations! You work closely with Product Developers to ensure colourway Bill of Materials (BOM) specifications are accurate, efficient and available to factories on time! You streamline our systems to manage colourway trims and cross-category raw materials, ensuring creative process efficiencies, purchasing accuracy and quality assurance across categories! You act as a liaison between Colour Designers, Materials Developers, Colour Operations and external vendors to ensure all materials inquiries are gathered proactively! You create and maintain a calibrated digital palette and manage digital assets of all seasonal collections for use through Sales and Marketing channels! You adhere to seasonal calendar dates and assist in achieving on time delivery of all coloured materials! You facilitate change control and communication with Product Development to ensure the highest standards are met in all Arc’teryx products! You colour partial or complete colourways for garments, hardgoods, footwear or accessories ! You support the overall creative process by troubleshooting colour concerns as needed! You own the preline document, ensuring all images are up to date and in support of the strategy for direct to consumer (DTC) exclusives, China exclusives, and other limited releases! You mock-up all DTC and key account buys! You assist in executing key visuals to communicate the retail design vision! You assist in creating tools to communicate seasonal colour strategy! You compile project scope, activities, and expenditures of projects deemed to be eligible for submission to funding programs (SR&ED, IRAP, NRC, MITACS, etc.)Additional experience, education and/or skills:! You have an Apparel Design diploma or equivalent, and 2+ years’ experience in a colour and fashion environment! You have excellent colour acuity, a sense of colour harmony, and a knowledge of colour theory, and an appreciation for changing colour trends! You have a working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator and InDesign! You have effective time management and organizational skills! You have strong communication skills, both verbal and written! You have previous experience coordinating between internal departments and external vendors! You have a strong attention to detail! You have strong interpersonal skills! You have intermediate to advanced knowledge of Adobe Illustrator; ! You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions! You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity! You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration! You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement!
