About the job

Job purpose: Create timeless, quality and intuitive designs for Arc’teryx retail locations globally. Excite the consumer by connecting them to our brand and product through premium retail experiences.  Manage project development and implementation with passion, curiosity and a continuous drive to explore and evolve.Key responsibilities and accountabilities: ! Produce store designs for all brand locations including space plans, storefronts, signage, fixtures, lighting and finishes to ensure the best solution for an inspired consumer experience and efficient operation. ! Coordinate overall design, development and build out process from site confirmation to open.! Drive project timelines and communicate with cross-functional partners using Smartsheet as a tool to track dates, deliverables and share information for each site.! Initiate and review architectural site surveys for design and layout feasibility to make recommendations for budget, operational and brand appropriateness.! Review landlord Tenant Criteria and local building code for informed store design layouts, storefront and signage design.! Prepare project layouts, specifications, millwork, lighting direction and design details for architectural documentation.! Direct and manage the production of architectural drawings for accuracy, industry quality standards, building codes, health and safety regulations.! Manage (external) architects on drawing deliverables, completion dates, permitting and construction documents.! Review standard project based shop drawings (storefront, fixtures, brand elements) for accuracy, completeness and coordination with architectural drawings.! Work closely with construction manager during bid and build phases.! Coordinate all interior brand elements with Brand Experience Specialist and maintaining overall design and brand vision.! Partner with Visual Merchandising team to finalize store layouts and fixture configuration to accommodate a clear product point of view, assortment strategy and capacity for each location. ! Design guidance and consultation for all B2B and B2C channels (brand stores, partner locations, factory outlets and shop in shop, etc…)! Research new innovative materials and manage library of architectural samples and literature! Some travel required – visit project sitesAdditional experience, education and/or skills required:! Degree or Diploma in Interior Design or Architecture ! 3+ years of retail, hospitality or commercial design work experience! Strong design and presentation skills and have experience with project management! Knowledgeable in material specification, sourcing and construction methods! Basic knowledge of current building codes and ADA requirements  ! Strong ability to drive work to ensure deadlines are met! Proficient in CAD drafting using AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, Sketch Up, Smartsheet and MS Office! Strong team player with ability to work independently with minimum supervision AND in a collaborative environment! Driven to problem solve and open to learn! Excellent verbal and visual communication skills ! Excellent ability to create, understand and translate three dimensional concepts into drawings! You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions! You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity!
