About the job

As Mechanic 2, your main duty is to complete daily inspection of machines on the production floor, and trouble shoot and resolve all machine malfunctions in a timely manner to minimize impact on production.Key responsibilities and accountabilities:! You provide immediate support to factory employees experiencing technical difficulties with any machines; troubleshoot and resolve problems as soon as possible to ensure little to no delay in production and reduce cost! You follow schedule set forth by Manager, Machine & Tooling and perform quality service and preventive maintenance of various sewing, taping, press and other machines on a regular basis! You ensure all safety features are set up to standard and instruct employees on the importance of the safety features! You calibrate machinery to prevent quality problems! You record all machine maintenance/service timely and accurately on the machine & tooling maintenance log! You proactive identify patterns of machine malfunctions and misalignments and recommend corrective actions to Senior Mechanic and Manager, Machine and Tooling that deal with the root of the right problem! You assemble, calibrate and reset new sewing and heat press machine and install cold press attachment to the heat press machine and all other equipment! You innovate, build and repair other tools as required by production! You assist in production layout changes mainly in the take down, movement and set up of machines! You ensure all safety procedures are followed when performing repairs; maintain a safe and clean working environment by following 5S principlesAdditional experience, education and/or skills (required):! You have a minimum of 4 years of mechanic related experiences or a combination of education and experiences! You have previous experience assembling, calibrating and repairing different kinds of sewing machines, especially single needle sewing machines! You are detail oriented with a keen eye to the root of the right problem with the ability to find the right solution! You have good communication skills and are able to relay important and relevant information to coworkers in the proper operation and maintenance of machines! You are able to work well under minimal supervision as well as part of a team! You have strong interpersonal skills with ability to deal with difficult situations with tact and professional! You are able to balance autonomy and collaboration! You seek the best (but sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitmentAdditional experience, education and/or skills (assets):! You have knowledge in lean manufacturing and 5S! You have basic knowledge of a spoken second language! You have knowledge of Arc’teryx’s unique products!
