A key role in the Arc’teryx Supply Chain as Purchaser, you are responsible for ensuring efficient procurement of raw materials for the production of finished goods. In this role, you will leverage relationships with our suppliers to optimize terms and pricing, minimize shortages, improve lead time, and ensure on-time delivery of all raw materials.  You will also collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive the continuous improvement of all procurement processes.Key responsibilities and accountabilities: ! Apply best practice negotiation skills to optimize terms and pricing with suppliers on regular basis. Maintain awareness of economic, market and forecast flux to support negotiations. ! Provide timely forecasts to support supplier’s ability to deliver on time. Track forecast accuracy and identify opportunities to increase accuracy and therefore delivery performance. ! Drive raw material lead time improvements through collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders. ! Manage procurement process, including purchase orders (POs) and raw material information maintenance for the responsible portfolio! Collaborate with Tier 1 factories and Tier 2 suppliers to ensure on-time delivery performance of raw materials and take swift action when potential delays become evident! Establish optimal processes with suppliers to ensure consistent performance on delivery and quality! Effectively and efficiently manage material issues, including returns and credits with suppliers to ensure focus remains on quality and on-time delivery of product! Deliver seasonal reviews of all assigned suppliers and identify opportunities and actions to make subsequent improvements.! Work closely with internal teams (i.e. Materials teams, Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Logistics, etc) to improve procurement process efficiency and effectiveness! KPI expectations, provide root cause analysis on KPI performance and create action plans to address issues! Maintain a thorough understanding of key customers, other stakeholders and overall business objectives.! Identify any gaps in cross functional processes and drive improvement with relevant teams! Work to minimize raw material write-offs at tier 2 suppliers.! Participate in and contribute to S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) processAdditional experience, education and/or skills required)! You have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Economics, Finance or similar discipline, along with 3-5 years’ experience in purchasing/procurement/buying, preferably within the apparel industry! You have strong experience in negotiation and vendor management! You have experience with MRP systems, preferably SAP! You have outstanding analytical abilities, combined with business acumen; ability to master the numbers as well as relating them to the rest of organization.! You have the ability to think both strategically and tactically, a persistent attention to detail, ability to work with a high degree of ambiguity and a high level of comfort in working with large quantities of data. ! You are able to work both independently and within a team! You have excellent communication skills, both verbally and in written ! You are proficient in the use of Microsoft Office!
