Job purpose: As the Merchandise Planner, you build and execute long-term, seasonal, & in-season merchandise planning, allocation, and replenishment strategies that support the channel’s financial and consumer objectives. This includes sales, margin and inventory analysis for our Global Direct-To-Consumer (DTC) business. You share your excellence of defining plans and adjusting forecasts to make each season successful.Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
⏵ You partner with the merchandising, planning and finance teams to establish and improve strategic long range & pre-season merchandise and financial plans, including sales, margin and inventory plans that support organizational objectives.
⏵ You analyze DTC sales results and update our allocation/forecast plan according to weekly, monthly and quarterly trends, in order to maximize achievement of overall business objectives.
⏵ You maximize sales by understanding sales trends and opportunities; Plan SKU level assortment and revise in-season plans for sales and profitability while maintaining healthy sell-thru.
⏵ You partner with the DTC merchant team to develop and communicate an assortment strategy that considers opportunities by model/sku, region, gender and product line.
⏵ You analyze DTC sales results and update our allocation/forecast plan according to weekly, monthly and quarterly trends, in order to maximize achievement of overall business objectives.
⏵ You determine how to maximize sales potential while minimizing inventory risk.
⏵ You build top down seasonal merchandise plans by region, market, gender, category that support our growth strategies.
⏵ You are responsible for the reconciliation of bottoms-up merchandise/buying plans back up to finance budgets.
⏵ You perform in season analyses to ensure that there is enough product available to meet stretch sales targets and merchandise standards, then communicate to the appropriate teams if there are shortages/overages
⏵ You validate and present the DTC department financial forecast and strategies in our Open To Buy (OTB) process.
⏵ You manage all phases of product movement for categories from planning, buying (including order input), replenishment and end of season transfers.
⏵ You collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide insight into retail functions and processes.
⏵ You pull ad hoc reports to support business requirements
⏵ You lead or assist with additional projects as required by the business
⏵ You may be required to travel for store visitsAdditional experience, education and/or skills:
⏵ Required
⏵ You have a University degree in a relevant subject, or equivalent experience
⏵ You have 5+ years of experience in merchandise planning or inventory management in a vertical retail business
⏵ You have 5+ years’ experience in a Direct-To-Consumer capacity (Retail or Ecommerce)
⏵ You have 5+ years’ experience creating & analyzing reports and/or working with big data
⏵ You are a self-starter who takes initiative and ownership of your business
⏵ You have a high level of business acumen
⏵ You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
⏵ You are able to balance autonomy and collaboration
