This position will assist in managing the retail store consistent with the short and long-term interests of the company, its employees, and the local community. The Operations Leader will work closely with the Assistant Store Manager and Store Manager to complete operational duties for the store. The Operations Leader will support the Store Team in achieving customer service and sales goals, monitoring expenses, creating and executing a smooth freight flow process and ensuring the store follows appropriate processes and procedures, in alignment with company goals and mission.KEY TASKS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily:Operations:! Schedule regular meetings with the Visual Merchandise Leader to encourage collaboration and alignment. ! Ensure the company policy and procedures are communicated in a timely manner and adhered to accordingly.! Maintain an efficient supply and budget tracking system to ensure that all necessary store and office supplies are available as needed.! Review building for safety, inspections, fire, or security gaps and ensure timely escalation to the ASM of any issues.! Maintain emergency plan for the store, updating at least every 6 months.  Include phone trees and evacuation plans.! Assume responsibility for opening and closing the store and securing all assets.! Responsible for the Store Operations Scorecard to ensure a 90% rating is consistently achieved.! Ensure the office, storage areas and break areas are clean, well-organized and in good working order.Leadership and Development:! Assume opening and closing responsibilities and assist in the onboarding and training process. ! Maintain employee attitude and morale by recognizing outstanding performance and service.! Motivate and develop staff in order to encourage their professional development.! Provide an open-door policy where employees are free to express their concerns and feelings.! Collaborate and work closely with all brands and divisions of the company.! Working with the Store Manager, develop a pool of potential sales associates to meet the long range retail and company objectives.! Inspire employees so that each person contributes to the productivity of the store.! Delegate work load appropriately and effectively.! Contribute to team efforts and attend all mandatory training meetings and PK sessionsInventory:! Execute physical inventory annually in conjunction and alignment with the corporate office instructions.! Follow the instructions of Amer Sports specific to inventory control, shrink, loss prevention plans, paperwork flow, and timeliness of reporting receipt of goods, inventory transfers and other related inventory matters.! Work with the Assistant Store Manager and Visual Merchandiser to ensure timely flow of inventory to the sales floor and stock room, to optimize sales.! Work with the Visual Merchandiser to plan for seasonal changes, off price events and DM product.  ! Ensure warranties, damaged, and defective merchandise is completed bi-weekly and/or shipped to HQ for repair.  Maintain organized files for customer communication.! Assist in protecting company assets through promoting awareness of loss prevention. Complete cycle counts monthly and as needed in higher shrink areas. ! Ensure that the stockroom is clean and well-organized.Customer Service:! While managing the stock room and freight flow process is the prime job responsibility, this will not ever overshadow the customer‚Äôs needs or your support of the sales floor. ! Provide a superior level of prompt, efficient and courteous customer service! Ability to learn detail about multiple brands and apply knowledge to assist customers! Provide accurate information on products, educate customers on products and offer product suggestions! Ability to quickly resolve customer questions and complaints and to listen, interact and follow-up with customers! Accurately process payments by totaling purchases; processing cash, checks and credit cards; correctly operate cash register system! Use sales techniques that model the Amer Sports Retail Academy. ! Instill the meaning and importance of customer engagement in all employees.  Empower staff to take care of the guest in all customer service matters.! Create and Enhance the Brand experience by promoting and leading as a positive role model. ! Be personally available to all customers to communicate and identify their needs and address their questions or concerns.Marketing/Events! Work in conjunction with Community Marketing Leader to execute store events which support the company mission and increase community involvement. ! Encourage all staff to participate in planning and attending events both in the store and offsite. ! Ensure that the store is utilizing local social media in alignment with company expectationsLegal Compliance:! Ensure that the store is in compliance with all State and Federal laws, including wage and hour, human rights and equal employment opportunities.! Maintain safe working conditions for employees and customers. Resolve safety concerns quickly.! Ensure store security from internal and external theft and know proper apprehension and prosecution procedures for your state and per the company guidelines. Other Job Functions:! Previous retail sales experience.! 2-5 years retail sales experience.! Ability to give clear directions and set expectations for staff.! Excellent organizational skills.! Excel and Word proficient.! Accuracy and attention to detail.! Outstanding oral and written communication skills.! Self-motivated.! Ability to train and delegate effectively.! Problem solving ability.! Ability to effectively work with and motivate the team.! Cash handling experience.!
