POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are looking for a team player that brings strong product creation experience, entrepreneurial thinking, and enthusiasm for the categories to the business. Responsible for managing a global product line/category from brief stage through design, development, product introduction, and sell through. Accountable for sales and margin requirements and determining line architecture and pricing strategies - all with a relevant focus on our consumer and competition. This hybrid position is also responsible for developing the categories they are managing.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
• Work with the Category Manager on overall strategic direction, business plan development, and the writing of briefs for the seasonal line plan.
• Work directly and communicate on a daily basis with overseas sourcing offices/vendors to insure product design requirements are understood and appropriately executed.
• Participate in vendor allocation conversations based on competencies, volume, technique, fabrication, cost, etc.
• Negotiate all costs, minimums and lead times with factories; responsible to meet target margins.
• Plan and execute project development according to the seasonal critical dates that lead to on–time delivery of sales samples and production confirmation.
• Monitor developments, understand manufacturing capabilities, anticipate problems, address and facilitate solutions in a timely manner to minimize quality problems and delays.
• Responsible for all sku system input and integrity.
• Conducts market research in terms of product trend, consumer, competitive landscape, and pricing.
• Conducts statistical sales analysis for sell-in and sell-through and works with global market leaders to collect relevant feedback by region
• Initiates and leads concept and design with seasonal product briefs outlining category direction, strategy, and business plans.
• Attends key account meetings, trade shows, market visits for presentations and relationship building.
• Works with design to monitor progress, adhere to calendar, and maintain margin requirements through development.
• Presents the product line at internal line reviews, product launches and key account pre-lines.
• Works with marketing partners to develop and maximize brand/category initiatives and provide seasonal needs for catalogs and marketing materials in terms of photo samples and product information.
• Consistently evaluates category direction for relevancy and new opportunities.
• Encourages and maintains constant communication and feedback amongst all organizational partners.
• Partners closely with sales organization to meet and exceed mutual goals, and to develop merchandising plans and strategies.
• Maintain a strong understanding of product demand, forecast and inventory levels.
